Dr. Damian Edwin Birchess, MD

Damian We met a LONG time ago. I was a colleague and friend to your Dad, with whom I worked in RSA on briquettes projects. I visited USA on 1980 with your cousin, Donna Anton. I have not had any contact for over 40 years and would like to ask her how her life has gone. I was hoping to send her an email and would appreciate your assistance. Many thanks Peter Crittall

I wrote two personal letters to Drs. Commeford and Birchess, and never received any personal response. The managers of this practice seem to be overly concerned with billing, not unusual, I know. Dr. Commerford saw me for a badly bruised and swollen hand. The visit notes said bruising - no detail on the horrible swelling, and no diagnosis that I could make out in the mostly illegible notes. I treated it myself with icing and stretching; and a month later felt I wanted some physical therapy to address ligament tightness. They refused to prescribe PT without being seen again. What harm could physical therapy have done? Also, my hand looked fine. If Commerford had made complete exam notes of the injury during the initial visit, it would surely be logical and good medical care to prescribe physical therapy if discomfort or immobility persisted. These doctors appear to be unconcerned with fair treatment, and responsible medical practices.

Dr Birchess is a wonderful doctor who has the respect of his patients and peers. He's thorough, kind and has the reputation of being an excellent diagnostician.

Dr. Birchess has been my GP for over 20 years now, and I couldn't say enough good things about him. I feel very blessed to have found him.
