Dr. Dan David Hopner, MD

I have been going to Dr. Hopner for 6-7yrs and he has been great! Always listens and helps. Thorough and knowledgeable. The specialists he has referred me to over the years have all been top notch. Really appreciate having him for my primary care doctor.

Don't go here if you value your health. The doctor cares so little of his practice he has physicians assistants running his two locations. You cannot switch between locations. I went to Aborn Road location. PA Mr. Romero was rude and disinterested. After ordering test blood, etc. I went back in to get results. From the time I signed in at the desk until I walked out I was there 13 minutes. PA Mr. Romero suggested cortisone for my knee when I said no he looked mad. Then when he commented on why my blood work showed a certain level, I reminded him I told him about that. At that point he told me "Have a nice day" and I was dismissed. None of my issues where addressed and he didn't even go through all my test results. It cost $200 for the lab work, with no real explanation or treatment. I asked to talk to the doctor got told he was only at that location every other Thursday in the afternoon. No way to get an appoint in the next few weeks. So I called the… other location and I could not see the doctor at the location he is at more because I went to the Aborn location first. No one said anything about the two locations until I asked to see the doctor. I started leaving messages for the Doctor on Friday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and as of today I haven't heard anything. He doesn't care what his PA do or if proper care if given. I still need help and I still have the same problems that brought me into the office and to pay for lab work. So now I am out $ but no treatment or idea what is wrong. DO NOT GO TO THIS PRACTICE. Dr get paid the same if he sees patients or his PA do...less work for him and same amount of money. Glad money is more important than patients.

Best Primary Care I have ever seen

This is really more a review about his Physician Assistant, Yelena, than about Dr. Hopner (tho, Dr. Hopner certainly had some say in hiring this person). If you are "pushed off" to see this PA, I would be very cautious and force her to provide the medical services you would expect. She misdiagnosed my condition (she was lazy, incompetent and unprofessional in doing so) and then prescribed the wrong medication. The medication not only did not resolve my situation, but it made things much worse for me. I ended having to make an urgent appointment with a dermatologist to take care of things (something this PA never suggested, recommended or referred). I'm a long-time patient of Dr. Hopner. However, if I am forced to see the PA next time I make an appointment, I will find another doctor.
