Dr. Dan Robert Trellis, MD

I loved Dr. Trellis, whom I actually didn't meet until I was in the procedure room. He introduced himself and put me at ease with some conversation that revealed he knew something about me, more than my being "next in line." Wry sense of humor, no dancing around, delivered the good news promptly after I was awake again in the recovery room. Of course it's easier to deliver good news than bad, but I thank God I picked him and was able to be scheduled with him for my first (at age 81) colonoscopy, just four weeks after a complete left breast mastectomy.

I am in the healthcare field and I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. He is very rude, and has no bedside manner whatsoever. He does not care how he talks to a patient or their family members.

Do not under any circumstances go to him. As I sit here and read all of these negative reviews it amazes me how accurate they actually are. He was completely rude and arrogant toward our whole family. He completely dismissed everything we said and jumped to conclusions before even looking at any test results or lab values. He barked orders and diagnosis without even considering any external factors or actually results that were already obtained. He was completely dismissive. I would never ever have anyone in my family be seen by him again. I would highly recommend that you go anywhere else. It is very obvious that he does not care for the well-being of his patients and is only interested in his paycheck and moving on to the next one.

This haircut that passes for a doctor is straight out of 100 years ago. He was immediately abusive toward my son who is having difficult stomach pain from what appears to be withdrawal from antidepressants. He is suffering, unable to eat and is becoming thinner and weaker every day. Without really explaining or listening, Trellis said he had IBS and suggested he gets back on an antidepressant. This takes no account of how this would effect my son's mental health and is an example of a compartmentalized approach to healthcare. More importantly, when asked this he took and awkward defensive position barking back instead of helping. This is more than poor bedside manner. It reflects an inability to see a patient's holistic life health and comes off as angry, antisocial and uninformative toward a family who is trying to help their son. Shame on you Trellis and UPMC for allowing this yesterday's way of medicine. There is no place for this in healthcare. Avoid visiting Trellis for… any reason. He is nothing short of a bad provider and should be fired immediately.

I have had 2 colonoscopies done by Dr. Trellis. He is very direct, honest, and tells it like it is. If you need some to hold your hand this is not the doctor for you.

For the love of god do not go to this man or associates for care. I got written off as IBS patient yet, I'm sitting here in pain that I complained about to him in liver-gallbladder area. He cares about his paycheck not the patients. His staff a dumbest bunch of monkeys in the world. Actually asked me if I was sure that I went to the er. Then his staff ignores me and as soon as another person walks up tot he window they are ready to wait on them.

I feel so taken care of being cared for by Dr. Trellis. He is so nice.

Dr. Trellis is a very caring doctor. When he is talking to you, he talks like you are one of his own children, whereas some doctors just talk to their patients nonchalantly and are more concerned with their money. He was very helpful and knowledgeable with every thing I needed him for. Thank you Dr. Trellis
