Dr. Dana L Dolce, APN

Dana L. Dolce, AGACNP, BC, is an accomplished nurse practitioner with experience in managing patient care in both hospital and clinical-based settings, specializing in Parkinson’s and other movement disorders and epilepsy. Dana holds the position of Hackensack Meridian Health’s Network Neuromodulation Manager for the Hackensack Meridian Neuroscience Institute.

Dana is integral to the network’s movement disorders program, having established procedure protocol and nursing guidelines utilized throughout the network. She also manages the full-spectrum of neurosurgery patient care including obtaining health histories, performing physical examinations, evaluating imaging and lab results, and collaborating with medical staff in the diagnosis, management, and follow-up care. She is well versed in focused ultrasound (FUS) and deep brain stimulation (DBS) procedures for the treatment of Parkinson’s and essential tremor, as well as DBS programming and medication management.

Dana is part of the …HMH team that helped develop and implement evidence-based protocols to enhance care and improve safety for people with Parkinson’s disease. “The hospital can be a scary place for people with Parkinson’s disease. Although people with Parkinson’s make up a relatively small percentage of overall hospital admissions, their morbidity and mortality during hospitalization is significantly higher when compared to people without Parkinson’s disease,” said Dana. “HMH’s protocols address the four major factors that contribute to poor outcomes for this vulnerable population, including medication timing, harmful medications, mobility, and dysphagia.”

She is also a frequent lecturer of various internal training and awareness programs and previously acted as a graduate student preceptor at University of Pennsylvania, LaSalle University, and Thomas Jefferson University.
