Dr. Dana Reyad Mahmoud, DO

Incredibly abrasive and confrontational. I was not given leave to explain my answers above yes/no and was not given the courtesy of even false concern when she literally made me cry. There was no stop in her onslaught of buzz word filled info dumping to ask why I was crying or if she could explain differently. Just complete bombardment of frankly, biased information that went against what I as comfortable with. I was not able to communicate and explain any of my feelings and when I tried to tell her past medical history I was shut down. I felt completely uncared for, unwelcome, judged and terrified. I cried for hours after the appointment, and I am certain there was already a flag in my chart noting my need for reassurance and clarity. Yet I also feel certain that she specifically used fear mongering and buzz words to scare me into the regimen she feels "best" and 100% not at all what would be best for me the human doing something hard and scary. When advice is given phrased as "I… wouldn't do that, but if you want to risk it" then I know its biased and not with my own health in mind. I am looking for a care team, not someone who will spout their own stigma filled opinions onto a frightened and fragile woman.

Dr Mahmoud takes the time to listen to your concerns, does not impose medication, and uses a culturally-sensitive approach. I could not recommend her enough.
