Dr. Abravanel received his undergraduate degree from Duke University in 2006 and his PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology and MD from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in 2013 and 2015, respectively. He subsequently completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital and a fellowship in Medical Oncology in the Dana-Farber / Mass General Brigham fellowship program, where he also served as chief fellow. As a physician scientist, Dr. Abravanel is pursuing basic and translational research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, the Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT and Harvard Medical School focused on mechanisms of therapeutic response and resistance in breast cancer. In the clinic, Dr. Abravanel cares for patients with both early and advanced breast cancer, with a particular interest in cancer precision medicine.
