Dr. Daniel Albo, MD

I was in for colon cancer surgery and Dr. Albo and his staff were amazing! I feel so blessed to have him perform my surgery. He made sure I was taken care of and then spent time explaining everything weeks after the surgery.

Very pleased with Dr Albo! Will definitely use him again if I need a surgeon!

I had gallbladder surgery. Two weeks later and still in bad, bad pain. It feels as if I have an hernia now, and I cannot bend over anymore. Something happened during surgery.

Let me first start off by saying that Dr. Albo is a nice person from what I gathered, however, my experience with him was the worst of my life. I went in for a gallbladder removal. My gallbladder was impacted so he said he had to scrape it from my liver, in doing so he damaged one of my biliary ducts which started leaking bile into my abdomen.(this was not known at the time of release) Instead of keeping me in the hospital for observation, he said he felt comfortable to send me home. A day and a half later i was in the ER with excruciating abdominal pain. After almost a 15 hour wait i was transferred back to him via ambulance where he hooked me up to morphine and told me i was reacting like that because i was small and thin. I was told I was just handling the pain differently even though the previous hospital ER i was in said i had a laceration to my liver. I laied in a hospital bed at park plaza for 2 days in pain before he finally ran a HIDA scan and realized I was leaking… bile into my abdomen. An emergency stent was put in thanksgiving night by a very disgruntled staff. Then I contracted C.diff in the hospital. This was truely the worst experience of my life. Although Dr. Albo was nice, he neglected to acknowledge that the pain I was in was more than me just handling pain poorly. When I arrived back at the hospital he let me lay there in pain for 2 days before him or anyone else realized I wasn't just overreacting to my pain. I was told so many times that he wasn't used to working on thin people. I was left with a lot of pain, and a lot of bills from being hospitalized for a week due to complications that could have been handled earlier if he had believed the pain I was in was real. Do not go to this surgeon if you are thin, apparently he is used to working with larger people only. I am sure he is normally a bad surgeon, but as you can see, i had a very negative experienc.

Dr. Albo saved my life. I had been to three emergency rooms in two days with severe abdominal pain. A skilled ER physician at Park Plaza Hospital knew something more than a virus was going on. She admitted me and I was placed in Dr. Albo's care. He monitored me carefully and when he did not see improvement, took me into the OR for exploratory surgery. He found my bowel twisted and purple. I was hours away from dying. He untwisted it laparascopically, thus saving me a huge, long scar down my middle and a long recovery.His bedside manner is incomparable as well. He is so very caring and connected with his work and his patients. I can not say enough good things about this amazing man.
