I loved Dr Becker. I was totally clueless about what was going on with 10 year old son at the time where told me my son was experiencing what you would call rituals of ICE. Now I think he's going through them again at 32' Dr Becker was so attentive and very caring at that time. I would love to have him treat my son again although it appears he's left Mobile nothing hurt wishing. We still love you Dr Becker

Saw him when I was a teenager. He aggressively pressured me to take medications that I did not want to, and when I continued to refuse, he stormed out of his office, loudly proclaiming so that everyone in the office could hear, "you're an arrogant and ignorant child; you're sick and you want to be sick, you arrogant, ignorant child."

I was in sixth grade when I saw Dr. Becker. He confirmed what my mother already knew: I had OCD. He also informed her of some things she did not know: I would be on medication for the rest of my life and would be forever handicaped (like in a wheel chair handicaped.) I started crying uncontrollably. My mother asked the doctor to assure me that I wasnâ??t crazy to which he responded â??Depends on what you mean by crazy.â?? Needless to say, we never went back to Dr. Becker. Awful man.

Dr. Becker has a home practice and spent a great deal of time with me both in person and on the phone in order to properly diagnose and treat me where others had failed. He has never performed ECT or treated small groups. He was very straightforward regarding treatment options.

I was treated by Doctor Becker twenty years ago in an inpatient environment as a teenager. At the time, I suffered from extreme physical abuse at home (which he did not address because my parents had denied it when confronted) and severe depression. The hospital assigned Dr. Becker a small group of us that were subjected to a myriad of different medications and if these did not produce the results he wanted, the last resort he chose was electroconvulsive therapy. We were not treated as individual patients but more of what seemed like a "group experiment". It took me years to wean myself off of one of the medications and today I am still dealing with what happened not only with my family but with my stay in this facility. (That is no longer open)Perhaps his still being in practice is a sign that he has become a better doctor and perhaps he has finally learned the compassion he so lacked back then and I hope that there are people out there that HAVE had success with him. However, I am… not one and would not recommend him to ANYONE.

Dr. Becker was did not seem interested in anything that I said.

Dr. Becker does everything he can to reduce expense, His diagosis is accurate and his manner is relaxed and optimistic. He has enormous experience and rapidly gets to the heart of your child or your difficulties. Highly recommended.
