Dr. Daniel Blachman, MD

Never introduced himself. Joking out in the hall with staff before my endoscopy. Had a question and issue of severe jaw pain after procedure. Called the number he gave me if I had questions. Called almost a week later, let the phone ring for exactly 4 seconds and left a message. I called back that afternoon, he had left for Memorial Day weekend. Now 2 weeks later I still have not heard from him.

I will never see him again. Saw him for a year or so and was always told it was what I was eating. I got to the point of being afraid to eat anything. Had emergency surgery at AMC and had 6” of my colon removed due to his neglect

I was prepared for the colonoscopy/endoscopy as were the nurses and anesthesiologist. I layed in the hospital bed waiting along while everyone else waited for Doctor Blachman. He was outside the door on his cellphone laughing with a nurse, he never introduced himself. They proceeded with the anesthesia. After the surgery he walked into the room, asked my Aid who she was, all while still never introducing who he was. So i asked "are you Doctor Blachman? Because you never introduced yourself to me", he snarrled with a sarcastic comeback telling me that i did not prep for surgery since i wanted to "take it there", WHICH I DID i was prepared. He proceeded to speak to my Aid and ignored me the rest of the conversation. He was rude, unshaved and did not have any maners in which a professional doctor should have, especially with such an invasive procedure he should have the decency to introduce himself and put his patients at ease, he was neglectful. I will never in my lifetime go back under… his care.

I saw Dr Blachman for the first time today. I will never see him again. Due to a recent high turnover of gastric doctors at Columbia Memorial Health, he is the third gastric specialist I have seen in three years. The previous two were great but left. With Dr. Blachman there was no continuity of care, no apparent interest in why I was there, apparently no medical understanding of —or curiosity about—the information provided to me by my previous physicians. Basically, I felt treated as if I was manufacturing my medical history, and he simply did not want to know it. A very embarrassing experience. Meanwhile my intestines are still loudly gurgling!

He was so attentive and really addressed my concerns.

Dr. Blachman saw me at a time when I was having severe gastrointestinal symptoms. He was extremely compassionate, patient and caring. I didnâ??t feel rushed at all as I often do in many doctor's offices. He explained the necessary procedures to me in great detail which put my mind at ease. The office staff was great as well at the time of the procedures and made me feel as comfortable as possible. I highly recommend Dr. Blachman.

Doesn't return emergency phone calls and ordered thousands of dollars of tests I didn't need. Terrible diagnostician. Does't care about his patients; we are all just $$$$.

I was in the hospital for a full week and only saw Dr. Blachman for 2 minutes upon admission and 3 minutes the following day. He promised he would be there on Sat., Sun and Monday and although he was on the unit, never stopped in my room. He ordered the appropriate tests, but never spoke to me about them first and I was never able to answer questions. My care was basically handled my the hospital MD. I called his office on day of discharge saying wanted to see him and he sent a doctor I never met before in his stead. He was uncaring, unconnected and neglectful with me. I did not see him for 6 days while in hospital. I would never recommend him or see him again. Big mistake.
