Dr. Daniel Gray Blumenfeld, MD

I’m a 20 year patient of Dr. Blumenfeld. His office staff coded me as a new patient, charging me $177, for a regular eye exam and lens prescription. In my 20 years of visits, the most I had paid was $70. Beware of staff they will rip you off. After several phone calls to the office, the staff refused to correct the code and charge. I will be appealing the charge! I suggest, when scheduling an appointment ask what code they will be using and the charge. Good luck! It’s sad the staff’s poor service “lowers” Dr. Blumenfeld’s ratings.

his blunt nature can come across as cold and borderline rude. his professional opinion is the only correct and possible one in his eyes. blumenfeld does not seem open to introducing variable ideas in almost any way. its as if he is so self aware of his own intellect, he lets its cloud his ability to actually try and help people. whatever he concludes about a patient, is law. there is no other explanation or option but the one he has made in his head. so patients miss out on all the diagnostic possibilities and treatment options available to people like them. they are only offerred what blumenfeld picks and chooses. myself for example, my eye condition is one that has small chances of recovery, not likely but its been seen that people recover in 20% of cases for no apparent reason. my doctors/neurologists fairly anticipate me as one of them in the near future. but blumenfeld told me straight foward and clear that i had no chance at all for recovery that was not at all possible for my… condition. because he deemed me 100% hopeless (untrue) he then offered zero treatment zero resources for help for at least coping to living disabeled. my seeing him was pointless. for a doctor he seems grossly unqualified for diagnosing and treating. i dont recommend him, i myself have been much better off with others. blumenfeld can easily become a waste of time. I took that risk and i hope others will think twice about it.

I am so grateful for this dr. My eye was in terrible shape. Dry eye, injury, blurred vision,but this dr.'s tenacity and caring has gotten me on the rise ad to recovery and I am so very thankful. I had gone to other eye doctors in El Paso and I felt like another number, but I know this Dr. Cares and I will never go anywhere else!

I took my daughter to see Dr. Blumenfeld to check for any swelling in her eyes due to her JRA. He was very professional and caring and reassured us that everything was OK. I highly recommend him.

Excellent care for my cataracts. Danny has a sense of humor. So lacking in other professionals. He's bright, thorough, conscientious. A credit to the local community. But you have to watch out what he writes on blackboards when getting together with his friends.
