Dr. Daniel C. Coffey, MD

He is a nice guy, but he doesn’t seem to have a lot of care for his patients. I saw him several times last year over about six months, and the care was perfectly fine. I stopped seeing him for three months, as I wasn’t having issues. First time seeing him again after that time, he introduced himself. I figured he had a lot of patients but wondered why he didn’t see that I had seen him previously in my file. I was having some internal rectal pain. I was given a diagnosis of some fissures with a brief external check and was told to see him again in a month. I was having some bleeding and saw him a week earlier than scheduled. He poked around with a finger, said it was a fissure (other side) and proceeded to explain what a fissure was despite having diagnosed me with the same thing three weeks earlier. This time he prescribed a topical lotion. Honestly, I’m not satisfied with the care given. It doesn’t seem like he reads patient charts and just tries to go based off his own memory. The… lack of effort when trying to examine also is glaring, as I feel like he could have found the fissures previously if he had tried to examine more closely. I will be seeing a different doctor, but I have to wait a few weeks, which is frustrating, since I should have received proper care initially

Dr. Coffey was great. He made himself available before the diagnostic procedure and was ready to go before I was even fully prepped. Do not confuse this with quantity over quality. He was very patient but also showed he was courteous of patient's time. He was not rushing from the previous patient to get to me at the last minute or after my scheduled time. Procedure went very smoothly and my wife was provided with all the feedback and answers to questions immediately following the procedure. I would trust him again without any hesitation whatsoever.

Dr. Coffey is everything that is wrong with our medical system all wrapped up into one horrible physician. He is cold, does not answer questions, and is only interested in a high patient turnover rate. Please stay away if you care about your health.

Dr Coffey is professional, caring and an outstanding physician and surgeon.

Dr. Coffey has no business practicing medicine. He is cold, dismissive of questions, and his bedside manner is appalling. I am not sure if he lacks the communication skills to talk to patients effectively or just chooses not to. He performed a colonoscopy and before the effects of the anesthesia had worn off, he proceeded to tell me I had “a serious form of colitis and could lose my colon!” He also could not tell me if the medicine he prescribed was safe for breastfeeding and told me I would have to look it up. He then refused to answer any questions claiming he needed “more Information”. After the effects of the anesthetics wore off, and my husband informed me of all that he said, I was worried and called his office. His front office staff assured me they would ask him the questions I needed answered. After three hours, they called back and answered one of the seven questions I asked. They then said that if I needed any other questions asked I would have to schedule an appointment… with Dr. Coffey. Save yourself a horrible experience and do not see this doctor. SHAME ON SPARROW MEDICAL GROUP for continuing to employ such an abomination. I later found out that Dr. Coffey had performed surgery on one of my family members years ago. He did not suture the colon correctly and my family member nearly died of sepsis. We are redirected to Dr. Coffey from another Dr. in the office last minute, so I did not have a chance to read the warnings on many posts on this site. Please do not make the same mistake.

Horrible bedside manner. Unwilling to answer questions.

"Dr?" Coffey is self absorbed and has no patient/Dr. skills. He doesn't LISTEN to patient concerns nor does he care about another Dr.'s diagnosis. 3 other Dr.'s reported hemorrhoids. I was sent to Dr. Coffee for surgery, but nope--no hemorrhoids. Well guess what, after a very ROUGH and UNCARING EXAM, I wouldn't take a sick rat to him. Dr. Coffee claims to be a "butt Dr." I think he is the east end of a horse going west and the Dr. part is "iffy" at best. :<(

Horrible doctor needs to be stopped.. needs to have someone else perform all his surgery every surgery he has performed has had some sort of complication when is enough enough
