Dr. Daniel Lionel Crane, MD

It’s not surprising that most of these reviews are either poor, or at best mediocre. This is a psychiatrist who invests the absolute minimum in educating himself on his patient’s condition. He made clear over a number of interactions that running his business takes precedence to the needs of his patient. Which is ironic because after one or two appointments, you’ll see it’s quite clear his business is anything but well-run. His staff possesses a rare combination: incompetent with the basics of scheduling, communication, basic professionalism. And at the same time, totally condescending to patients who ask for the bare minimum of the aforementioned. Who would put up with that?

Before allowing me to book an appointment, Crane had his staff review my recent prescriptions. They included a (successful) appeal of the insurance company's initial denial of benefits for Adderall. On that basis, Crane peremptorily refused to see me. I felt sure he had misunderstood the record. I faxed an explanation, documentation from the pharmacy and the insurance company, and said I would NOT ask him for a prescription in any case. The office manager politely told me not to bother. A remarkably callous and arbitrary decision. I can only speculate on his treatment of patients, but this experience does not bode well for them.

Very efficient service. Remember you don't go to a psychiatrist having never seen a psychologist or a primary care doctor first. He spent time discussing what I thought was wrong and trying and Avenue of treatment. I came back let him know how I thought things went. I told him what worked and what didn't work and He adjusted the medications appropriately. I know this is going to be an ongoing Balancing Act until we get it right but he's willing to listen and respond appropriately

Staff mis booked my appointment twice, charged me a late fee, interrogated me if I was there because of ADHD to be prescribed adderal in front of 3 patients. Have seen crane throught my entire treatment but was pressured to see the new doctor at his practice because Crane didnt have enough time to see me even months out. More concerned about his summer vacation than his patients. Became rude with me when I asked if my treatment will be over in 1 month rather than 3. Your typical in and out doctor who I think is more worried with getting you out of the door rather than helping you.

It is almost instinctual. By asking a few pointed questions, Dr. Crane can easily focus on your issue. Basically a few minutes is all he needs to hit the nail on the head and know where the patient is coming from and what they need. I know several people I have sent to him all find him to be very accurate.Yes we know, Nicole had issues. I was one of the lucky ones she liked but I always showed early and acted very deferential. The current staff is wonderful. They really are great and understanding. Pity he lost people with the last receptionist and pity he didn't let her go sooner.

Now that the doctors at the office have been liberated from perhaps the worst secretary in history and replaced her with professional, caring, good hearted workers, Dr. Crane is able to provide care without his patients being alienated, embarrassed and disgusted by his previous secretary Nicole.Dr. Crane does move efficiently through the visit however he makes sure that things are all right before sending you on your way. I cannot endorse his office enough, all 3 medical professionals (Christina Johnstone is a Nurse Practitioner) are wonderful people who truly care for their patients.

Initially going to this office wasn't the most pleasant experience but it has come a long way. Nicole was alway hostile and that's putting it nicely. But she's no longer there and the new staff has been great. Although there is a bit of hold time on the phone, the staff is always accommodating and they make an effort to schedule my sometimes last minute appointments. Dr. Crane is brilliant and saved my life. With his regimen my anxiety is at an all time low. He's a legend!

I've been going to psychiatrists and hospitals for over 10 years and have always been treated for depression and other mood disorders. No medication/therapy seemed to bring me any relief. Dr. Crane was able to nail my issue (ADD) during our first visit and I'm finally on a medication that works! He's very kind, friendly, and very smart. He answered all of my questions thoroughly. His staff is amazing too. I recommended him to a friend of mine and she loves him as well.
