Dr. Daniel John Crofton, MD

Great Oral surgeon. I have had 3 extractions and the beginning on 1 of two implants and he is patient, gets me numb and rescued me from a failed root canal. I can't say enough goo things about him

I made an appointment and waited over an hour in the waiting room. There was only one other person in the lobby the entire time that I was there. Once I was able to see the doctor I was happy with our visit. I went in for a consultation and I felt that Dr. Crofton spent ample time with me. He asked several questions and gave me his opinion which I appreciated. Overall, the staff (not Dr. Crofton-he was nice) was not mean but they were not welcoming. After my consultation, the receptionist informed me that my bill was $260. I was shocked and inquired why it was so high since I had insurance. She said I had a $600 deductible that had to be met. No worries, I paid it. My insurance was new and I was unfamiliar with the specifics of my plan at that time. A couple of weeks later I get a bill in the mail stating that I have an outstanding balance for the amount that I paid in the office. I double checked my credit card statement and it was in fact paid. Before I called Dr. Crofton's… office I contacted my insurance company about the deductible and my plan coverage. They informed me that I did not have a deductible. Long story short, they billed my medical and not my dental. The insurance company suggested that I call the doctor and request they resubmit to my dental insurance, as it was incorrectly billed to my medical insurance. I called the office and inquired about the bill. A lady by the name of Denise said that I had an outstanding balance of $260. I told her that I paid it and I can scan my statement to her as proof. She put me on hold and then told me that it's fine and to not worry about the balance and it's taken care of. (I thought that was unusual.) Then I told her about the incorrect billing and after a very long conversation she told me that there was nothing they could do about my bill. I have appealed this claim with my insurance company... Aside from the waiting and the billing problem I experienced, the main reason I would not go back is because I did not feel like anyone wanted to be there. I felt as if I was not welcomed there. Not only will I not go back, I will not recommend any of my friends or family.
