Dr. Daniel Brian Deroo, MD

Dr. Deroo came in about 10 minutes before my surgery to administer my nerve block then ASKED me if I wanted an epidural as well. My husband asked him what the Dr. said and he rudely told us the Dr recommended it but it was up to us. This caused us lack of confidence right before major surgery. After my husband left me for surgery, Dr. Deroo asked where my husband was from, then made a derogatory comment about his country of origin. 10 minutes later in the operating room as he was prepping me for my epidural, he sarcastically commented to the nurse that was ultra sensitive to pain because, YES, the nerve block injection was painful. Luckily my surgeon is outstanding and personable with a high trust level, I was able to dismiss this rude anesthesiologist!

I recently underwent a procedure where Dr. Deroo was the Anesthesiologist. He provided me NO level of confidence in his care instead he gave a myriad of reasons why there maybe an issue and they wouldn't be his fault blaming my weight and that it was up to me to breath. I was frightened and only after I asked him if he was sure he wanted to help me that he said I'd be ok which is really all I wanted to hear. Having undergone general anesthesia several times, never have I been so afraid before going under.
