Dr. DiGiacomo is a board-certified Allergist/Immunologist. He received his medical degree from Tulane University School Of Medicine, completed his pediatrics residency at Children’s National Medical Center, and fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital. 

Dr. DiGiacomo enjoys treating the entire spectrum of allergic and immunologic disorders, maintaining a specific interest in primary and secondary immunodeficiencies, along with early life food allergies, and drug allergy. He is an active participant in the multidisciplinary Food Allergy Program at K. Hovnanian Children's Hospital that offers personalized care to individuals with food protein induced enterocolitis syndrome (FPIES), food oral immunotherapy and other conditions related to adverse food reactions. 



Dr. DiGiacomo is actively involved in clinical research with expertise in the epidemiology of predominantly antibody deficiency disorders and autoinflammatory complications of primary immunodeficiencies.

What are the most common allergy symptoms in children?

Allergies in children include respiratory signs like coughing, sneezing, and nasal congestion, as well as itchy, watery eyes. Other common reactions are skin-related, such as rashes, or gastrointestinal, such as an upset stomach after consuming certain foods. More severe reactions, such as swelling or difficulty breathing, can also occur and warrant immediate medical intervention. For any recurring symptoms, it’s best to consult a pediatric allergist.

How is a child tested for drug allergies?

Figuring out if a child has a drug allergy can be complicated, but our skilled team knows how to manage these situations.
