Dr. Daniel Gerard Donahue, MD

Very good experience. Great bedside manner, very clear about the procedure (a colonoscopy), explained the results clearly and in detail, answered all my questions, and gave me a printout of the results, complete with pictures. Couldn’t ask for a better experience.

I had gallstones that Dr Donahue did a procedure to remove. After the procedure I developed pancreatitis and was in the hospital for 10 days. I have been calling the office for 2 days asking for a follow up because I’m still having issues and have been told 3 times that someone would call me back. Have not received one call.

I have been a patient of Dr.Donahue since 1998. Over the years I have seen him for age-related tests and relatively minor GI issues that required assessment. I regard him as highly committed to patient education, spending considerable time in explaining things and open to questions. He has always been approachable, appropriate, upbeat, and engaged, demonstrating full attention in our conversations. I have complete confidence in his judgement and have always left his office feeling far less anxious than when I entered.

I have gone to Dr. Donahue for several years to have him as my doctor for colonoscopies. Recently (a week ago) I had a severe problem and called his office on a Friday to speak to his secretary and voiced my problem. She said that he would either call me back or call in a prescription - I called the pharmacy that afternoon and there was no call in for a prescription, nor did I receive a call from him. Having the same problem over the weekend I called on Monday and asked to speak to his secretary again, stating that I had called twice on Friday......she eventually answered the on hold for 10 minute phone and said that she had told me he was out on Friday...........I told her I had not heard that or had missed that, didn't want to get into it at that point. On Monday she said that he had the message, and would call me - no call, Monday, Tuesday, Wed. or today - I called the office again today and was put on an ungodly long hold.........this is totally unacceptable, as I had to go to… the ER on Wed. for treatment - if a practice is that busy and the dr. cannot call back, then pass me on to some dr. who is not so busy - beware - I do not know how to proceed - but will do something, believe me.

I liked going to Dr. Donahue for his bedside manner, appt. ease and time spent. After having him for awhile, I decided to go where my husband was going. Now he wants to leave that dr. I hope to return to Dr. Donahue in the near future.

Dr Donahue has been very personable and honest with me. He has been brutally honest about my issue without making me feel he is judging me. I am glad I found him. My primary care physician recommended him and I am finding making changes necessary for my health are easier with the help of Dr Donahue and Dr Colleen Murphy,

On my first visit, Even though he was very busy; he took the time to discuss what he was going to do, the procedure and what to expect. It went flawlessly. On my last visit and phone call, He was both kidding and serious with me, giving me his professional opinion, what he would do If it was him and how urgent this was... On receiving my results, I expected a nurse to call, but Dr. Donahue made the time to call and talk to me himself. I was very impressed with his professionalism and how nice his mannerism was to talk direct to him.
