I worked for surgeons for a number of years so have had a lot of contact with Drs. I saw this Dr 1 time and most of the visit he was arrogant, rude and asked some inappropriate questions. I have seen a very reputable Orthopedic Surgeon for my back condition for some time who has advised surgery but I do not want that. This arrogant Dr Fields asked me to bend and touch my toes and then when I did said nothing is wrong with your back. What was the worst was after speaking with my husband he came into the waiting room and stood in front of me and said my husband needed to go to anxiety classes !! What happened to privacy !!! I would never refer anyone to this person and many others feel the same way.

Stay away from Dr. Fields! He is a horrible, racist, misogynistic pig. I was sixteen years old when I found myself pregnant. I went to see our Family practice physician, Dr. Daniel Fields. He was in Elk Grove, CA at the time. He said to me " You are a 16 year old Mexican female. If you have this baby you will have another one before you're 18 from a different father. You will be on welfare and never have a real job. Your children will repeat the same mistakes and it will be a never ending cycle. It's Illegal to say this, but I will say it anyway. You should have an abortion." I couldn't believe it. Nine months later after seeing a terrific OBGYN I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. 6 years later I had another baby girl by the same father. I was never on welfare. My oldest is now 24 and is attending Sac State. My 18 year old is going to community college and will transfer to a University in 2 years. It took me 24 years to have the courage to post this.

If you would like to go to an MD who argues with you then this is the one for you. I have hesitantly seen this MD for the last few years since there are limited MDs in our area. He has continually been unprofessional and difficult each and every visit or message I have sent. I can not recommend him in any way.

Dr. Fields treats the whole person -- including suggesting podcasts, looking one in the eye and talking to him or her like and intelligent person. Great doctor, insightful and compassionate.

Long wait time. It takes over 1 hour to be seen. He has student doctors.

Dan is my husband's primary physician. My husband is chronically ill with Chron's Disease and has had two Brain Tumors removed. Dan is blunt, straightforward with a big caring heart and sense of humor. I don't know what we would do without him! He's the best!

Dr. FIelds was my primary care physician for about 25 years and then he moved up to the foothills to practice. He is knowledgeable about all medicine and illnesses. he is most competent at his business of medicine. He has a wry sense of humor. I wish he did not leave the area. I wish him the best.

Funny as all-get-out; brutally honest and straightforward, but very caring also. Does make you feel comfortable (if you don't in the beginning, like me, as typically represented thru my bp!). Can't leave there without laughing. Love him, and has been our fam. dr. for years, as well as mother-in-law's.

My family and I have gone to Dr. Dan for years. Long ago, when we were all younger, he was a bit short on bedside manner, but he was (and is) excellent at diagnosing the problem. Today, he is one of the most caring and relaxed doctors I've ever known. I enjoy his wit and wisdom, and an excellent doctor. I would recommend him to anyone!
