Dr. Daniel Francis Klee

Dr. Klee was at the hospital when I was admitted with my heart attack. He saved my life. Thanks, Doc!

During her first visit with my wife, Dr. Klee ranted to her about the evils of Obamacare. Then, after her tests came back, we met with him and he told her she'd need valve surgery. Then, he bristled when she asked if she could wait two months due to starting a new job. He agreed grudgingly that this would be OK and when she called two months later about scheduling surgery he yelled at her on the phone for waiting so long. The surgeon he referred us to had a relatively low rating among patients so we did our own research and found someone much more qualified. This also seemed to irritate him when we gave him the surgeon's name so he could coordinate care. All of this would be annoying but unimportant if he and his office had not been so negligent with my wife's post-surgery follow-up. The earliest appointment we were offered would have been two months after she was released from the hospital despite complications that required careful monitoring and changes in prescriptions. A… week after hospital release, she developed a high fever, which we reported to his office. This can indicate post-surgical infection, which is dangerous. They referred us to our family physician or said to call 911 if it persisted. After multiple calls and requests to Klee's office, we were finally given a follow-up appointment last week and were then bait-and-switched when we arrived to a fill-in doctor who had no info about my wife or her surgery and complications but at least did the necessary, which was to schedule an ultrasound of her heart and blood-work to check on possible infection. Totally ignored subsequent calls re recurring problem with elevated heart rate, which was one of the problems she encountered in the hospital. This has since grown more urgent. Their office's response? You might be dehydrated (she isn't) and call 911 if the problem gets worse. It's taken us a dozen or so calls to get ANY attention from his office. They're basically there to screen. As for Klee, his bedside manner is poor. Why yell at a heart patient for following your instructions or rant about politics? Why make a patient facing surgery more anxious than they already are? Apart from that, it's inappropriate and unprofessional. Overall, Klee comes off as a little creepy but that's OK if he knows his stuff and follows through. Unfortunately, he and his office are negligent with respect to follow-up and coordination and demonstrate no real concern for his patients or for prioritizing patients who have just undergone surgery. You've already seen what others have experienced with his office staff and their billing practices. They're starting to pull this with us too despite failing to provide any invoices and no EoB from our insurance company referring to these "unpaid" charges. I would avoid this arrogant selfish doc and his practice if you can, especially if you have an upcoming surgery.

I have had trouble with heart disease over the years. I saw Dr. Klee and he did a few tests. At this point everything is stable. It is good to know that Dr. Klee will be there to take care of any trouble if problems develop.

I was having trouble with chest pain. I saw Dr. Klee and he found out my heart was healthy. It turned out to be a hiatal hernia and reflux.

I was concerned about developing heart disease because of my family history. I saw Dr. Klee. What a great experience! He was on time; very caring; did a stress test and a coronary calcium score. I am healthy. I plan on seeing him again in 2 years.

I saw Dr. Klee. He diagnosed and has treated my high cholesterol with success. It was an excellent experience.
