Dr. Daniel Gelrud, MD

I want to express my great disappointment and dissatisfaction with this physician. I have only one third of my stomach and I have serious digestive issues. In a follow up call he stated the result of my exams were all fine and hung up on me when I questioned him about it. He had prescribed a medication that was not covered by my insurance costing $436 for 30 pills. I called multiple times and left many messages trying to get other options and he kept me waiting for weeks refusing to respond. I do not recommend this man. He is careless, irresponsible and not a good professional.

He is a great Dr. His knowledge, bedside manners and clear explanation of his findings. I feel very confident with Dr Daniel Gelrud.

I have had Irritable Bowel Syndrome for at least 20 years. I had given up on finding a good GI doctor until my daughter visited Dr. Gelrud for an unrelated GI problem. I was so impressed by care and advice that he gave to her, that I decided to make an appointment. Many things impressed me about Dr. Gelrud. He immediately understood my problems and suggested over-the-counter medicine to address the abdominal pain that I was experiencing. And then, contrary to most Miami doctors, when I called with a question, he actually returned my call himself, instead of his medical assistant. There is no diagnostic test for IBS. It requires understanding the patient and trying different treatments to control the symptoms. That requires a doctor taking sufficient time with a patient to develop a personalized treatment plan. Dr. Gelrud did just that and I cannot thank him enough.

I cannot imagine a licensed physician treating his patients which such disrespect and a complete lack of consideration for their time. I would never recommend this guy to anyone as he lacks the professionalism and courtesy to deserve your patronage. Moreover, after he leaves you hanging, he doesn’t even have the courtesy to reach out to you personally to explain or even apologize, but instead has his staff do it.

This doctor had his mind made up before he came into the exam room and met me. He had looked at my information, and since I am a chronic pain patient, he decided in his mind that I was a drug addict, and that all of my problems were attributable to the medicine I take every day so that I can walk. How sad. He did not even take a history on me, but just ordered the tests that my other doctor needed for his diagnosis. He spent 5 minutes with me.
