Dr. Daniel Michael Hardy, MD

I looked at Dr. Hardy’s reviews before I scheduled an appointment with him and was sure, given the highly positive ratings, that he would be able to help me with the migraines I have been having, which have gotten worse during pregnancy. They were so severe that I ended up going to the emergency room. After showing up more than an hour late without explanation or apology, the only thing he had to say was that no medication is considered safe during pregnancy and so he could not help me. Essentially, he recommended going to the ER if I were in pain, otherwise “roughing it out”. This approach is completely absurd - based on the opinions of other physicians in his field, seeing as cost-benefit analysis is required generally in determining whether to prescribe a medication during pregnancy - in fact, the Class C FDA designation expressly requires the physician to consider benefits and if they outweigh the risks. My situation is not garden-variety given my history of severe migraines.… Moreover, he appeared to be putting his own interests (ie liability for potential adverse outcomes) above the care of his patients. He was dismissive of how severe my migraines were, showed a lack of compassion in our visit, and went as far as to suggest that taking anything would be reckless on my part. Scaring a women who is pregnant and in pain is perhaps not the best approach. My husband who came along with me was shocked to hear that. It left me in tears. If he was not able to willing you treat me because of his own fear, a more professional route would have simply been to say so, or to offer to speak to my OBGYN and determine what next steps would be best after educating himself about the current data and recommendations. He did neither. Rather, he offered to help me schedule me next appointment in 6 months. He seemed to have difficultly calculating the gestational age of my child - seeing as in 6 months, I will still be pregnant, and therefore, presumably he will have the same expert advice (Do nothing!) he gave me with this visit. One more note: In looking at some of the more negative responses on this website, he appears to lack an understanding of and expertise in the treatment of neurological disorders among women - pregnant or otherwise. If you are looking for a neurologist who can help you feel better (and especially if you happen to be a woman), I would strongly urge looking elsewhere.

If I could give this office 0 stars I would. Incompetent admin staff, disinterested doctor. I have been trying to get a prescription renewed for a week. My mail order pharmacy has sent 2 faxes and called twice. I’ve called twice. No response. You can’t talk to anyone ‘in charge’ to assist with a problem. I had the same problem last year. It took almost 3 weeks for them to refill my prescription. Numerous phone calls from me and my mail order pharmacy. I had to threaten to come to the office before they sent the refill authorization. Because it took so long I ran out of medication. I asked them to call in 10 pills to a local CVS until my 90 day supply arrived. They called in the entire 3 month supply to CVS. Since it was a duplicate prescription my insurance denied the claim. CVS allowed me to purchase 10 pills at retail price. Six weeks later I had an appointment with Dr. Hardy. Their reminder call did not mention that the office had moved. I went to the old address and could… not find them. A receptionist in another business finally told me they had moved. I had to call them to get directions to their new office. When I told Dr. Hardy about the problems I’d experienced he didn’t seem concerned and didn’t offer an apology. He said sometimes these things happen.!?

I was told I had to wait 45 -hour . No consideration for being punctual! Shameful since I was a new patient. Poor business ethics

Dr. Hardy took very good care of me, both during and after my appointment. He is very knowledgable, but still humble, and went above and beyond to make sure I had the best possible outcome.

Normally, I have an Anxiety attack about Dr visits. But Dr. Hardy & his nurse Meghan, made my visit quite easy and calm. They didn't leave me sitting in the waiting room forever..in fact, I only waited for like, 5 minutes. Dr. Hardy was very precise and quite sweet...he's even a bit funny (lol). In all honesty, it was the best Dr.'s visit I've ever had! I'm actually looking forward to my follow up appointment. If you're in need of a Neurologist...This Is The Guy!!!! ????????

Dr. Hardy is great! He helped ease my fear with his great sense of humor while still maintaining a high level of professionalism.

I had seizures for 30 years, and was barely hopeful when I began seeing Dr. Cohen and Dr. Hardy at Neurological Associates. My medication was changed and my seizures have been controlled for 11 years. I am eternally grateful for the life altering support I have received from Dr. Cohen and Dr. Hardy.

Dr. Hardy was easy to talk to and I feel he really listened when I explained my pain issues. He also took copious notes. I liked the fact that he wasn't in a rush to get through the visit...he was willing to spend whatever time was necessary in order to understand my issues and to help find a resolution. I have every confidence in his judgement and I appreciate his empathy.

I saw Dr Hardy because of his high reviews. I went to him for a second opinion. He naturally asked where I got my first opinion and when I told him, his demeanor changed, he was no longer nice and friendly. He said he would order a nerve test as he walked me out the door. He never did, and they would never return my call.

We just started on our journey so there is no diagnosis yet, but I am confident Dr. Hardy will find the answer.
