I too am looking and waiting for Dr Hoeffel! I don’t want anyone else to do my other hip replacement!

I need a follow up but cannot find him since leaving Summit

My 85 year old mother had a complex total hip replacement done by Dr Hoeffel at Woodwinds hospital. Dr Hoeffel was recommended to us by another surgeon that didn't feel comfortable doing the surgery. The entire experience was wonderful and now 3 months later, my mom has no pain and is fully healed. Make sure your Vitamin D levels, magnesium and B12 levels are high going into surgery (all safe to take and surgeons never talk about what TO take only what to avoid). Follow up with a quality high protein diet. I would highly recommend this surgeon and the Woodwinds facility for their expertise and quality care!

I went to Dr. Hoeffel on the recommendation of my nurse friends after having bad surgical results with Dr. Yellin at Summit Ortho. On my first visit he had his CNA come in as a witness. He told me that the bone scan of my right knee replacement did not show that it was loose. Two other MD's and a PA had said it indicated my right knee replacement was loose at the tibia and femur. He suggested I do pool exercises and did order labs to check for infection. As he left the room he leaned down into my tear stained face and said, "I can't make you happy" ( what was this about?) I felt depressed, abandoned and belittled after my encounter with him. I don't believe I will return . He hasn't called me with the results of the blood test either.
