Dr. Daniel William Karakla, MD

Dr. Karakla is a world class surgeon. If you are looking for warm and fuzzy in a doc he might not be your guy. He is no nonsense and is very busy. The office is also so busy that you might have to occasionally wait an hour or more for you appointment. Even when that happens I still feel like he took the needed time with me and thoroughly explained everything to me. I prefer highly skilled to highly personable.

Horrible Horrible Horrible. All about the money

Dr Karakla is a great doctor but this review is about his office. Two years ago when I was being treated for cancer I could never get a call back when I left a message for his nurse. It got so bad that whenever I needed to contact his nurse I had to drive into the office and ask to speak to her in person. This went on for months. Now I’ve been in need of contacting the office again and same thing, I’ve left four messages in the last two weeks, no call back whatsoever. This is so unprofessional.

My apt was scheduled for today at 2. I waited until about 5 mins after 3 to ask the receptionist if they knew I was waiting, that I had a babysitter and needed to get back. She said I was next, so I continued waiting. At about 3:15 I was called back. The nurse confirmed info with me in the room. At 3:35 a different nurse came in and asked me to move to another room to see Nurse Practitioner Pam instead of Dr. Karakla. I moved to the other room... waited another 15 mins. I waited an hour and 45 mins and was never treated. I got the cd of my head mri, told the receptionist to make sure not to bill anything- there was no treatment, and left. Today was a waste of my time- but even more so I waited a month and a half for this apt. Dr Karakla has experience with the type of surgery I may need so I specifically googled searched, read reviews, made sure he was covered by my ins, called multiple times to ensure they had my records- and now I need to start this process all over and wait some… more. Being recently diagnosed with autoimmune disease is overwhelming, but this added to the burden, and it should have brought to comfort, but no. I'm livid. If I kept him waiting, or didnt show I'd hear about it as the patient. I expect professionalism- and am owed an apology- which I'm sure I will not get.

Dr. Karakla took over my case for a recurrence of squamous cell carcinoma of the upper gingiva. I credit him with saving my life. He is direct and to the point, as well as compassionate and caring.

Awful! I waited 2 HOURS to be seen, only for him to barely listen to me and refer me to his colleague! I waited over a month to see him for NOTHING

In my three years as a patient of Dr. Daniel Karakla, I have been very pleased with his diagnosis of my situation, his explanation about the surgical procedure best suited for me, of the swiftness in which surgery was scheduled and his concern with my recovery. Most of all, I've been able to dance out of his office after each follow-up visit...cancer free. I find him to be patient, a good listener and straight forward in answering my questions. Also, he does an excellent job of keeping my other doctors informed of my progress., test results, etc. He's a 10 on my rating scale!

I was referred to DR Karakla in 2011 for stage4B parotid cancer and he preformed a very successful surgery and except for slight paralysis face which was there before surgery caused by the tumor there is very minimal scaring . I would not be here if it was not for this fine DR , I owe him my life and recommend him to anyone needing this type surgery, He is a very humble being who has helped some of the most difficult situations livable-Head and Neck Cancer is not a very pretty thing and difficult because od eating talking and just breathing but he is an expert who will give you the best chance you can have anywhere, Thanks from the bottom of my heart to this man

Dr. Karakala performed my Partial Thyroidectomy in 2001 as well as my Partial Paratid-ectomy last week. He and his staff are very kind and informative, I never left feeling like I didn't understand what was going to happen. I HIGHLY recommend him for any surgical ENT needs.

Dr. Karakla has been very accurate in his observation of my Thyroid in 2013 which lead to a Total Thyroidectomy. He is very professional and compassionate. He also goes the extra mile for his patients. He explains your diagnosis in great debt so you can understand what has to be done. He gives you the negative and positive. Great job Doc. I highly recommend Dr. Karakla. YOU ARE THE BOMB! (smile) #1 in my book.
