Dr. Daniel Shahab Manavi, MD

While his temperate is laissez-faire, he is a doctor that has gotten too comfortable with being on auto pilot and receiving insurance checks, so much so that he has lost touch with quality of care. My husband was in the hospital for 5 days for cardiac related issues, we pressed with questions and were met with "he's fine, everything was normal". We asked him to call my husband's cardiologist as a procedure was recommended for him, and Dr. Manavi said he "didn't have time and is not calling anyone". We requested his medical records, and there was abnormal EKGs, ST elevations, Elevated LVEDP, and Depressed EF - none of which was disclosed to us dispute numerous requests. Upon discharge, we scheduled a follow up (no one from his office reached out to follow up), the follow up visit was "so..... remind me why you're here", "how you feeling", and then went to take his leave. My husband (medical records in hand) says "well, wait, I have a few questions, I received my medical records and...".… Dr. Manavi answers "where did you get those". After two questions, interrupts and says he has to go. So where is the care? He did no research on his patient to acquaint himself with the medical history, did no follow up to see how the patient was doing, and interrupted questions with "well I have to go now". This is a copy and paste doctor. He will just copy and paste some medical record (because he is clearly unfamiliar with patient cases). Has no time to follow up. And will surely bill the insurance for a 'comprehensive' office visit when there was no examination, assessment, discussion of treatment plan... not even familiar with the case. You only have one heart, take the time to find a responsive, involved doctor who has not operating on auto pilot. See patient, explain nothing, bill insurance. Rinse, wash, and repeat. This doctor needs a wake up call to remember what he is supposed to be doing for this patients that render him those insurance checks.

Dr. Manavi was the cardiologist on call at Tarzana Hospitaland and quickly diagnosed my problem. I was impressed by his bedside manner and his caring attitude. I have seen him in the office for a follow-up and I was mpressed with the time he took to make me feel at ease with my problems and explain my options and medications. He will be my cardiologist from now on.

I simply recommend everyone to see this doctor. I just love him.
