Dr. Daniel Wayne Michael, MD

Dr. Michael is a very poor surgeon. He has poor surgical technique resulting in a large number of infections. Residents of Laurel are somewhat captive to the fact there are not many choices in town. I urge you to consider going to Jackson or to Hattiesburg before allowing this man to operate on you. Please be careful and read the reviews before making a choice on who will be operating on you. Ask yourself if it is worth the risk.

I would Thank God for putting this wonderful surgeon on earth. When I went to see him in 2003 I was 6 months from being in a wheelchair. He got another doctor involved in giving me the Forteo shots daily in my stomach for two years, in Nov., 2003, more disc had slid and he did Kypoplasty surgery. Two years later more sliders in another area and he did fix me up again. I would love to make the trip from Huntsville, Alabama, and let him look at what this horrible disease has done to me. He is the greatest in my life!!! So many fractures all over my body since he left. Sure wish I had moved down there when he left Birmingham. Bet he would have found a cure! It seems most of his surgerys get infected. According to the neurosurgeon my wife is seeing, he did nothing except cut her back open and get it infected.

Dr. (if you wish to call his that) Michael did major surgery on my back when he should have referred me to a nuero for a scope procedure. He left staph infection in my back which came to surface after two years. After my surgery, he left my back open for six months until I could find some one to complete his handy work because he would not see me or prescribe even antibiotics for my open back. After the staph infection sat in my back for two years I had to have another surgery to clean out the infection and take out the deteriorated bone, huge problem that would require another surgery to rebuild it. His first surgery, filled with staph, spinal leak, leaving me flat on my back for three weeks, giving me huge doses of steriods. Now I have to have a hip replacement because of all his bad and unnecessary decisions. I went to several attorneys to see what I could do to get some sort of compensation for the lifetime of problems I've been assured I would have. I was told that since I… could stand up and I wasn't dead that the law would not allow me to win enough to barely pay the attorneys much less make it worth their time. Where does this leave me? With my forth surgery coming up, financially ruined, can't work, I have no idea what will be around the corner but Danny Michael went on about his medical "career" after being run out of Alabama and now lives in Mississippi. Where is the justice in this hackers life? How can the medical and legal associations let this slip by? How can they continue protecting people like this? He stapled the o.r. nurse's forhead for asking questions, I run into Danny Michael stories all over. Have you heard one too?
