Left sutures on too long

I needed mohs surgery on my nose. Dr. O'Hara did the closure. He was abrupt right from the start and I should have heeded this early observation. He insisted that I go OFF an preventative antibiotic that another doctor had put me on even though I replied that it's more dangerous to STOP an antibiotic after it's been started. He retorted with some very nasty comments about other doctors' methods and added arrogantly that this is the reason there's so much mercer out there. Yes, agreed, but in my case I'd already begun the antibiotic AND wanted to be sure to prevent an infection following surgery. END RESULT: Daniel's method of surgery didn't work. I now have a permanent collapsed valve, there's close to zero air flow from that nostril, the nose is physically distorted and completely asymetrical. I have a permanent sinus situation as a result as well. Why? Because his unskilled technique lead to him cutting too deep AND too long, thereby actually cutting into the rim of my nostril. Why?… Because he REFUSED to have his assisting nurse (or whoever she was) in the room with us for the whole procedure. I asked him how he intended to do everything on his own but he just quickly responded with "I'm capable to do this on my own". I now realize that he didn't want her to see the mistake he had made. My mistake, of course, was staying in his operating chair. I should have bolted the minute he told me to get off my antibiotic in a most arrogant tone. Final result was that I DID GET AN INFECTION, and that further hampered my healing which complicated the valve. When I said to him how upset I was with the result of the collapsed valve, his answer was "What do you expect? You got an infection!" He then said to wait for 2 years and it would be all healed. Again, I should have realized that by waiting he would remove his chances for being challeged by a lawsuit. By the way, this happened 2 1/2 years ago. My nose is not better. It's worse. I have now had the experience of meeting up with a truly incompetent and arrogant doctor. I've never had this happen before and I will ALWAYS go with my gut feeling PLUS research extensively a doctor's reviews. Nobody ever heard of this guy, and that should have told me alot. His empty, dreary office should have also been telling in it's way. Nobody was ever in the dark and dingy waiting room. If only I could turn back the clock.

I was referred to Dr Ohara to have a skin cancer lesion removed. It was very easy. Everyone made me feel very comfortable and a couple years later and you wouldn't even know anything was done. Great job!
