Daniel Portney, MD, is a fellowship-trained orthopedic hand surgeon who cares for patients with traumatic injuries, infections, and chronic conditions of the upper extremity, including arthritis. He sees patients at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, in Washington, DC, as well as in McLean, northern Virginia and Chevy Chase, Maryland. Dr. Portney uses minimally invasive approaches to treat carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, thumb and finger arthritis, broken bones, and ligament injuries. He is one of the few surgeons in the area trained to offer wrist replacement surgeries, and he also cares for patients who have functional implants and prosthetics, after undergoing amputation.
