I am a veteran receiving care through VA Community Care and had a troubling experience with this clinic. There was confusion around appointment scheduling due to the clinic’s system and lack of reminders. On a prior occasion I selected an appointment time and was later told it had already been taken. When I arrived for a later appointment, the front desk focused on enforcing a “no-show” fee rather than resolving the scheduling issue. When I mentioned I was receiving treatment through the VA, I was told that “it doesn’t matter what category of patient you are.” The therapist then refused to proceed with the session and described me as “argumentative.” I later spoke with the physician, who acknowledged the interaction may not have been handled well and discussed continuing care. However, at my next visit I was told the providers were “uncomfortable” continuing treatment and my care had been canceled. This raises serious concerns about professionalism and communication at the clinic.
