Dr. Saunders graduated with honors from Boston University in 1992 and the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1997, where he was Class President. He was awarded the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Dental Implant Award and the Martin J. Loeb Leadership Award in 1997. He was also awarded the American Student Dental Association National Award of Excellence. Dr. Saunders served as the District I representative for the Resident Organization of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons from 1998 to 2001. Dr. Saunders achieved Board Certification in oral and maxillofacial surgery in 2002.  Dr. Saunders has given presentations and lectures on “Oral and Maxillofacial Trauma”, “Pathology” and “Dental Implants”. He has had articles published in Implant Dentistry (1997) and Biochemical and Biophysical Communications (1993). He received the Ray Zambito Award for Literature research in 2001. Dr. …Saunders is an active member of the Connecticut Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Dental Association. He is also a member of the Connecticut State Dental Society, Manchester Dental Society and the Tolland Dental Society. Dr. Saunders is a staff at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Dr. Saunders resides in Somers with his wife, Tina and daughters. His hobbies include mountain biking, skiing, and tennis.
