Unfortunately, I had a really bad experience with Dr Shapiro. First time he saw me, he got delayed, it was late and he saw me in a rush. He gave a prescription that was not right, so when I got my glasses, I couldn’t see from close distance. I knew something was wrong, so I called and asked if I would be re-billed for my new visit and I was informed I should NOT be charged for a re-check, but I was!! Not only he invoiced my insurance, but he also invoiced me for the difference. I called many times. Different people took my call. In 3 occasions I was informed someone called Tanya would call me back but nothing happened. Finally, I decided to pay my bill. In addition to that, when I went for the re-check many different people saw me and they didn’t agree on the results. For instance, Dr Shapiro’s assistant saw me first, and when the doctor saw me after that he said what his assistant gave me was not correct…. Then two women saw me and gave me a 3rd result for the prescription. In… summary, I had a really bad experience not only with Dr Shapiro, who seems to be pretty arrogant, but also with the low level of customer service.

Shows genuine concern about my ophthalmic issues. Spends time explaining my condition and proposes solutions. Would recommend him to family and friends.

Dr. Shapiro was able to see me urgently which was great because I had a serious problem with my eyes. He diagnosed me correctly, however, wasn't exactly knowledgable in how to treat my condition appropriately. He kept me coming back with little improvement for FIVE MONTHS before he decided to refer me to someone else, who treated me differently right away. Extremely disappointed.

Patient, compassionate and an excellent diagnostician. Overall, a very positive experience with a doctor I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to everyone I know.

I have seen Dr. Shapiro on multiple occasions for routine exams and once for an emergency visit. I have always been impressed with his bedside manner, and his ability to diagnose my unusual eye condition, pars planitis. I have recommended him to all of my friends and family. They all love him!

I was wrongfully diagnosed:1. I was told I had dry eyes when I had a viral infection and wasn't given proper medicated eye drops.2. I was told I need glasses and was just diagnosed with 20/20 vision. He either was overwhelmed seeing 100s of patients or truly lacks medical knowledge.
