Dr. Daniel Ray Smalley, DO

I saw Dr. Smalley for approximately 6 months at his "New Life Medical" practice on S. James St. in Ludington, MI. The staff is very courteous and friendly. The office is very dumpy, however, I attributed that to part of the cost savings (they do not bill insurance). The doctor spent an adequate amount of time reviewing my condition and the care was adequate. He prescribes medications that cannot be abruptly discontinued. When I went for my last appointment about 2 weeks ago, there was a sign on the door "Closed due to illness until further notice". The voicemail was and remains full. I have never known a doctor to abruptly discontinue seeing patients without as much as a referral to another physician. I would not EVER see this physician again after this experience. I also am unable to get my medical records. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Proceed with extreme caution.
