Meet Dr. Daniel Surh
Dr. Daniel Surh graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Middlebury College in Middlebury, VT. He went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA. Dan was awarded the Armed Forces Health Profession Scholarship and was promoted to Lieutenant upon graduation from dental school.
While serving as a Dental Officer in the U.S. Navy, Dan completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program that is accredited and recognized by the American Dental Association. After his residency, Dan served as Department Head and Dental Officer onboard the USS Dubuque, LPD-8 and finished his naval career at Naval Medical Center San Diego.
During his six years of active duty, Dan was promoted to Lieutenant Commander, qualified as a Surface Warfare Medical Dental Officer,
and was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation medal, the National Defense medal, and the Global War on Terrorism …medal. Dan is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Northern California Dental Society, and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.
Dan and his wife, Hyunjung, moved to Chico in July 2009. Hyunjung is a member of the faculty at CSU Chico. Both Dan and his wife feel blessed to be able to serve this great community.
In his free time, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife and new baby Dylan. Dan also enjoys cooking, sports, movies, music and playing golf.
