Dr. Thompson, a Virginia native, attended Virginia Tech where he majored in Mining Engineering. He is fond of saying that he went to Dental School to learn how to “excavate smaller holes”.  A ‘71 graduate of the Medical College of Virginia, School of Dentistry, he moved to Blacksburg that same year, to start the present practice. While Dr. Dan enjoys the practice of Dentistry, and is involved in a number of Study Clubs, and professional associations, his greatest joy is found in “beholding the glory of the Lord” and being “transformed into the same image” (2 Cor. 3:18). After that, his greatest joy is his wife, Jan, his 2 sons, Damon and Derek, his daughter Susan, their spouses, and the fabulous 12 grandchildren that they share with him. Dr. Dan and Jan love to camp, hike, bike, and participate in international and domestic medical missions.  Dr. T has made 17 trips to Mexico, 4 to Guatemala, …one each to Colombia and Honduras, and 6 trips to the Kentucky Appalachian’s.
Dennis C. Schnecker, DMD
Dr. Schnecker has been involved in dentistry for more than 35 years. He has a BS in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University. He also did coursework for his masters degree at the University of Cincinnati before deciding to move into dentistry. After completing a Doctor of Dental Medicine from University of Kentucky, he began practicing in Blacksburg in 1974. Dr. Schnecker is a member of the Seattle Study Club, NRV Study Club, the Academy of General Dentistry, the VA Dental Association, the Southwest VA Dental Association and is a lifetime member of the American Dental Association. He enjoys using his skill as a dentist in mission work and, along with his wife Linda, enjoys keeping in touch with family, gardening and doing ministry through their church.
