Luckily for us, my husband and I had weekly meetings with Dr. Williams for the past year .Most were through Zoom. My husband suffered from Parkinson's Disease and the last year it progressed rapidly. Dr. Williams helped him, and me, deal with these changes. He was available 7 days a week during crises. When my husband recently passed away, Dr. Williams sent me a beautiful hand written message of sympathy and encouragement. I admire his expertise so much so that now I see him for grief counseling.

Many people I know are feeling stressed, but not everyone take the steps that are needed to manage the situation. When I found myself in a very difficult place psychologically, I sought the counsel of Dr. Williams. He has been most effective in the plan we worked on together to address my anxiety. If you are searching for a clinician to confide in and to experience the feeling that your best interests are the focus of the therapy, then I highly recommend Dr. Williams.

After working all through the COVID pandemic and caring for my elderly mom, I began experiencing some very unusual symptoms. I was initially being worked up by a neurologist because of how my symptoms presented. I sought out help from Dr. Williams because I was so distressed and Dr. Williams was able to accurately diagnose my condition. He collaborated with me on creating a plan that I was comfortable following which included psychotherapy, meditation, physical activity and medication which was needed. I am back to myself and very grateful for the benefit I gained from our sessions together. I highly recommend Dr. Williams.

I believe we are more inclined to take time to write or call when we are unhappy with a service. I believe it is just as important, if not more so, to write when we are happy so others can more objectively decide for themselves on the right doctor for their care. In my opinion, Dr. Williams is one of those very rare doctors anyone would be fortunate to work with. For quite some time, I have worked with Dr. Williams as my psychiatrist while dealing with some very serious health issues. Dr. Williams is one of the most thorough, careful, thoughtful doctors I have had the privilege to work with. I have had a couple of emergencies off hours, and he was responsive, helpful and always calm, grounded and kind. I think Dr. Williams' kindness is one of his most outstanding attributes and often lacking in health care professionals. Dr. Williams has been most helpful to me regarding my child’s previous disabling physical symptoms that had been treated ineffectively by previous well-intentioned doctors who did not realize that the underlying problem was psychiatric. As a result of Dr Williams’ treatment, my child’s physical problems have been fully resolved and her emotional health restored, enabling her to return to school after a prolonged absence. Dr Williams conferred with previous treating doctors, reviewed the test results and made sure that we were not missing an undiagnosed physical condition. He identified emotional conflicts that my child, my husband & I did not at first realize needed expert psychiatric treatment. His care was thorough, sensitive, empathic and highly effective. Although I had been referred to Dr Williams by my primary care MD, I hesitated at first, in reading some of the mixed reviews posted here & I asked Dr Williams about them. He noted that in his work as a psychiatrist, he must… address problems that some patients and family members can’t acknowledge or won’t address in treatment. These problems may be harmful to the patient or family members. The psychiatrist bringing those issues into active discussion will sometimes lead to anger at the messenger. The fact that Dr Williams has been recognized as a Distinguished Life Fellow by both the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry speaks more loudly to me regarding his reputation among expert colleagues in his field who know his work over the years, than the unsubstantiated criticisms of some disgruntled former patients. I’m delighted that I brought my child to Dr Williams and unhesitatingly encourage others to do the same.
