Dr. Daniela Almajan

My young adult daughter visited Dr. Almajan for the first time today for a checkup and cleaning. The hygenist was very nice and gentle, but for some reason, Dr. Almajan also began scraping my daughter's teeth afterward and was very rough and explained things in a rude way. When my daughter started crying due to the pain of it, the dentist rudely said, "You shouldn't cry." My family members had all made appointments there, but I am canceling all of them.

I found her to be kind and patient. Very efficient.

The dentist should have her license revoked by the state and shouldn't be able to practice, she is a literal danger to the patients coming here. She knows what she is doing, it seems she's done these awful things and knows it but continues to practice unethically. This was my experience: I had set up an initial visit to getting imaging of the tooth in question and go over my allergies. Everything was pretty routine. I had explained that medication I was and was not allergic to was and what my dentist prior to her had done. She said okay and understood that I was allergic to a certain medication and that it made me very ill. She did not state this was an issue and this was explained clearly, she knew what I could and couldn't take. After this visit, I went in and for an extraction of the tooth but during this visit she initially numbed me and then went to other patients and the… one she extracted before me was literally screaming in pain from not being numbed enough and the dentist was pulling the teeth out regardless. I had to be re-numb and it went okay but I had to literally tell her that she had to numb me because I was not going to tolerate her doing what she did to the other person. Afterwards, she asked me what pain medication I could take and I explained as I had in our prior appointment what I could and couldn't take. This is what she told me that "Purdue Pharma went out of business and is no longer making oxycotin"(I didn't ask for oxycotin) and then going onto say that "I was talking to my husband about it because I feel bad for all the heroin addicts who are going to overdose more because they aren't making it anymore." I explicitly explained that the medication she wanted to give me made me very sick and I'm allergic to it. But that's what she gave me. I found out that her statement was completely false and I called and asked why she misinformed/lied to me and gave me something I was allergic to. She explained that she "didn't like that medication" and "wasn't comfortable with it." I asked her why she wasnt up front about it, so that I could have made an informed medical decision for myself because if I had know this treatment from her was the case I would have asked her for a referral to an oral surgeon who specialized in extractions and she only went onto say that "she didn't like it" as a response to why she hadn't been upfront or honest or why she hadn't referred me to an oral surgeon. I however, did not get any choice and she knew what she was doing and how wrong it was. I am absolutely appalled by her lack of ethical practicing. I can only say that if able to go anywhere else, go elsewhere and avoid this dentist at all cost. **** WARNING: DO NOT GO HERE ****

Appalling service, they should be shut down. They refuse to release x-rays to patients, when patients request them. They play games, pretending they never got the release form to release the x-rays, don't answer the phone or return calls, so that people have to drive there to demand their x-rays. DON'T ENTRUST THIS DENTIST WITH THE CARE OF YOUR TEETH. Read the Yelp reviews, how they treated people. UNTRUSTWORTHY and UNETHICAL. How is Dr. Almajan still practicing?
