Our experience with Danielle Beharie during the first trimester of my wife’s pregnancy was extremely horrifying. This was a complicated pregnancy, yet our concerns were not taken seriously and there was a clear lack of attention to detail. We requested medical documentation for time off due to complications but did not receive support. At one point, we perceived the doctor and a nurse practitioner laughing about our request, which felt dismissive and unprofessional. We filed a complaint with Stanford, but no meaningful action was taken and the case was closed without resolution. We are very glad we changed doctors before the second trimester, after switching, we finally received attentive care and a supportive environment that helped us avoid further stress and potential complications. Based on our experience, we would not recommend staying with this doctor, especially for complex cases. We also would not rely on the complaint process for accountability.

I had emergency surgery with Dr. Beharie. After the surgery, I had trouble breathing, diarrhea, and sharp pain in my right thigh. When I told her about these symptoms, she wrote “everything is normal” in my notes. She dismissed my symptoms and did not care. Later that same day, my regular doctor saw me, listened, and began treatment right away. One could see respiratory issues ,diarrhea and pain in primary care notes and her says everything is normal on same day. Later, when I was pregnant again and feared another ectopic pregnancy, I called her office many times. I received no response for three days. When she finally got back to me, she still didn’t order an ultrasound or offer any plan. I felt ignored and unsafe. Her demeanor felt cold and uncaring. I trusted her, but she didn’t seem to care about what I was going through. I would not recommend her to anyone.
