Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:My pursuit of medicine as a career was highly influenced by my interactions with my parents. My father taught high school biology and my mother worked in the hematology department at the hospital. Our dinner table discussions often included topics which I'm sure were not considered appropriate dinner discussions in most households. However, I found them fascinating. I was also an active and athletic individual which led to an interest in the musculoskeletal system and biomechanics. Combining is interest lead me to the world of orthopedics.What I want my patients to know about me:I want my patients to know that I will do my best to hear their concerns and take time to explain their condition and treatment plan. Also, I may not always know the answer but will do my best to ensure that they are treated appropriately either by myself or through an appropriate referral.What I do when I'm not seeing patients:When I am not seeing patients I am …enjoying time with friends and family, often with some outdoor activity or around the dinner table.
