Dr. Danya Reich, MD

i could never recommend this doctor nor this office. they are so unorganized and unreliable. it was a major hassle to get the team there to get the pre-authorization needed from my insurance for my referral. it seemed like no one knew what they were doing and no one communicated. they would keep telling me they processed it but when i called my insurance, they never did, i had to keep calling almost everyday for over 2 weeks to finally get things done right. it's just a mess dealing with this office and a headache. my results came in and no word from the doctor. i email her about them, still no word. i had to complain to get her to respond. she tells me she mailed my results, i don't receive it until 2 weeks later and they were just mailed out, not when she told me she mailed it 2 weeks prior. never got the referral in the mail she claimed she would mail me. just totally irresponsible and unprofessional. i want nothing more to do with this office and doctor.

I have never had such a bizarre and unprofessional experience at a medical office. I had a 9:30am appointment with Dr. Reich. It was my first time seeing her for a gynecological exam and I was referred to her. I arrived 10 minutes early to fill out paperwork and waited patiently until 10:15 (45 minutes.) I went to the front desk to check in & ask when they expect my appointment will begin. The nurses then told me she had quadruple-booked and accidentally taken some walk-ins prior to taking me. I replied calmly "OK, I understand." They then took me to a back exam room and left me there alone. From the room, I can hear Dr. Reich complaining (loudly and publicly) that she "doesn't know what to tell THESE PEOPLE" and that "they can either go out and get lunch, come back and deal with it, or go elsewhere." The nurse comes back in to tell me it will be another 30+ minutes at least. (so over 75 minutes past my scheduled appointment.) While walking out of the exam room back to the waiting… room, Dr. Reich says "I don't know what to tell you, It's terrible here. It's like this every day. I want to walk out of here too" (meaning leave her job…) and I said "Ok, I'm not sure what to do, so should I be finding another doctor?" She says "Yea probably." I have never experienced something so unprofessional, rude, and upsetting. I took off work to come see this doctor & expected to be treated with a little dignity, respect and professionalism, particularly given the intimate nature of the appointment and given that she works at Mt. Sinai medical center. I am absolutely in awe of the unprofessionalism and the way she spoke to me and about her other patients. I am not remotely a sensitive person but the experience brought my to tears. Beware before booking with this doctor.
