Dr. Daphne Simeon, MD

She’s an aloof quack Dr. How she graduated complex trauma and claims to be an expert in dissociative disorders is beyond me. She seems to be dissociated herself. She may know the subject well but has no grasp for what the patients are feeling. She has a detached way of communicating , lacks flexibility, sensitivity and only cares about money. If your problem is more surface level type anxieties you can try her but psychotherapists online will Be less expensive and better at helping you. Terrible experience. I left out of there feeling more dissociated, helpless and confused.

I went to doctor Simeon for an assessment and diagnosis of a dissociative disorder. I paid $650 for the appointment and gave her plenty of data to work with. Once we closed the 1.5 hour session, she insisted she needed another appointment to give a diagnosis. Since then it's been 5 months of no contact. I asked for a follow up and an answer to a simple question, and she told me that she is ceasing communication and "do not contact me again". I asked for my medical chart and mentioned a lawyer for being terminated for no reason, and then she suddenly became nice. I will not be returning.

Dr. Simeon does not care about the well-being of her patients. She is only concerned with money. I saw Dr. Simeon twice a week for over a year. When I let her know that I could no longer see her twice a week as my schedule was changing, she said she could no longer work with me and without any regard for my well-being ended the phone call. She did not provide any suggestions for follow up care and acted as though I was disposable. Her cold disposition is alarming. Additionally, I was having surgery one day and she was furious that I had to cancel the appointment and was only concerned if she was going to get paid. Although she claims to be a specialist in Depersonalization, she herself is extremely aloof and disconnected. I would stay away and not waste your money.

Dr. Daphne Simeon is the best. She is the best doctor I have ever had. She tells you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear. She has your best interest in mind. She is incredibly intelligent, and although of few words, she is wonderful at what she does. Dr. Simeon is the sort of doctor that should set an example for how other doctors do their work.

She has no regard for her patients. When I ran out of a medication that she prescribed me, she refused to call in a refill unless I made an appointment with her. When I asked if she could call in one or two days worth so that I didn't have to go without in the meantime, she said no... I reminded her that it is incredibly unsafe to miss days on a medication and her exact words were "That is not my problem." As my doctor, who else's problem would it be? I researched the possible side effects of withdrawal of this particular medication and they included seizures. She calls herself a medical professional, and she is putting my life in danger out of pride? Definite God complex. She also hung up the phone on me. I have never been treated so unprofessionally or poorly from an incredibly overcharged PHYSICIAN. She accused me of blackmail when I asked her to refill my prescription without coming in for an appointment first. Blackmail??? I am a patient in need of a medication from my… psychiatrist, and I am accused of blackmail, told that my health as a result of going without my prescribed medication was "not her problem", and hung up on. I fully intend to get a new doctor, but she would not even call me in one or two day's worth of my medication in the meantime, till I get this figured out. I was under the impression that your psychiatrist cares about your medical well-being? Also, she is incredibly inflexible and will not make any accommodations whatsoever regarding patients' work schedule. I am an assistant and cannot leave the office at all hours of the work day or early. Yet she will not try to work with my schedule whatsoever. Please do not ever make an appointment with her. She is cold, heartless, and does not care whatsoever what happens to those she "treats."
