Dr. Dara Lynn Havemann, MD

Timeline of our nightmare experience: The day before the transfer there was a meeting between Dara Havemann and Myself. We wanted to express our concern of the chance that the success rate of 70% may drop substantially due to the thawing process. Dara Havemann then stated that that was a worst case scenario and there was only a 2% chance of that happening. The day of the transfer, yes, the girl came in and showed us a picture of the embryo where she pointed with a pen and stated that the expansion was not where it should be. She also stated that the embryo displayed in that photo was not fully thawed and that it may continue to expand. I then started to cry and the girl left the room never to explain anything further. Dara Havemann showed up shortly after that showing a no-worry attitude, nor alerting us of any change in success rates or quality of the embryo after just having a meeting about those EXACT concerns the day before. After moving to the O.R., we were shown an image of… the embryo before the transfer. This is where Dara Havemann stated that there had been more expansion. She then turned to Dr. Sadruddin to confirm what she said but Dr. Sadruddin disagreed and stated that there had been absolutely no expansion whatsoever. This disagreement led us to reach out to Dr. Sadruddin the next day to explain the same concerns previously expressed to Dara Havemann mentioned above. While we were only able to reach Sarah Booker at that time, she explained to us for the FIRST time that the embryo was in fact “half dead” and that this quality is rarely used in transfers. I would assume if you were us at this moment you would be highly upset and feel totally misled. The following 10 days I could not even dress myself much less go to work due to the infection from the progesterone shots. We called the emergency line twice with concerns to the pain as well as emails to the office where we were only told to take Tylenol PM along with the few valium we were allowed to have. It wasn’t until we spoke to Dr. Barnett on the emergency line when we finally received serious concern about the pain. He stated that the side effects we were experiencing were not normal and immediately contacted Dara Havemann and directed us to see her asap the next day. This event also displayed evidence of neglect to a patient. All the events started above were not noted in my chart anywhere and were told to us that they didn't happen in an email. Also after I was seen for a clear infection there was no follow up call, appointment nothing! This is the worst practice! See someone else! **note the reason of the meeting the day before the transfer was due to everything Dara Havemann had told us all the way through was all a lie she told me I would never have to do another egg retrieval, which is why we were told not to purchase a multiple retrieval plan, we were also not told about the money back gaurentee either. I was stimmed for 12 days which is too long- I had 26 eggs retrieved, 3 made it to blasts and frozen for genetic screening, which we were told they would all come back “Normal” since “I’m so young” and one came genetically normal. Needless to say I didn’t believe a work Dara Havemann had to say at this point. Went in to discuss concerns and she again promises something she shouldn’t have - you would think at this point she would have stopped promising. Please see someone else. Save yourself the heartache.

We could not have been more pleased with her service and bedside manner. We went through some really difficult times with her - she was incredibly empathetic while also being direct about next steps. She and her team were just very comforting and just good at what they do!

For those struggling with infertility, Dr. Havemann is the sensitive, caring, and honest provider you hope for and need; she took the time to get to know my husband and I as individuals, as a couple, and then as patients. Like many, our journey to start a family has not been easy, but Dr. Havemann and her staff have been encouraging every step of the way.

So many great things about Dr. Havemann and her team at Dallas IVF, specifically the McKinney office. They truly became family on some of the hardest days of my life. All of the nurses were so patient with my questions (no matter how small – especially Angela, who was with me so many times and answered so many of my phone calls and emails), very easy to get a hold of, and so patient with my fear of needles, LOL. Dr. Havemann truly gets involved on a personal level with her patients and she helped make things happen for us that I am eternally grateful for. A doctor that cares is a true gift. My situation is unique in that my husband was battling cancer when I first came to see her, and in between a frozen transfer and a fresh transfer (that didn’t take), we found out it relapsed. I called the nurse with this information letting them know I wasn’t sure when we could do the frozen transfer and I was literally bawling to her nurse Kim. Within minutes, Dr. Havemann was calling me personally… to extend her sympathies and let me know that they were there to support whatever decisions we made. I’ve cried more than I’d like to admit in Dr. Havemann’s office, and every time, she stops for just a moment being a doctor behind a desk, and becomes a person with a heart and feelings and the best hugs. She’s made awkward very personal procedures much easier with her light-hearted conversations. She gives it to you straight (which my husband loves) but she’s humorous when appropriate and flexible. She gives you options and for me, I trusted her the day I met her.

I had an awesome experience with Dr Havemann. She is nice and very smart by the way. The staff was wonderful and friendly. Her Nurse Kim was great and knowledgeable, she answered all my emails in a timely manner. I would recommend this Doctor to any family or friend suffering from infertility. I got pregnant quickly with an non invasive treatment! Waiting on my twins this Summer!!! God Bless her and her staff!!!

When i was recommended to see the doctor at McKinney Fertility Clinic I was nervous & freaked out. But Dr. Havemann made us feel relaxed and explained the situation we were in and walked us through the plan to conceive. She is a good listener and addressed all of the concerns to make us feel better. She give us a personalized treatment plan and was with us at each and every step. We conceived with minimal treatment in a very short period and was thrilled with the outcome. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Havemann is so kind, courteous and understanding. I highly recommend her and Dallas IVF. They turned what I thought was going to be a stressful experience into a memorable one. Dr. Havemann and her staff are personable and care about their patients. My husband and I had the best experience really appreciate everything they have done for us.

Dr. Havemann and her staff are super stars! They make you feel as if you are the only patient they have. To have the kind of intelligence and sensitivity she has in one doctor is very rare. We HIGHLY recommend her and her staff and feel SO lucky to have found them.
