Dr. Dara Parvin, MD

He rated female patients in the ER from 1-10, was a philanderer, and thank goodness is no longer practicing medicine. He’s arrogant as heck for no reason because he’s short and not even the least bit attractive. His personality makes him even worse.

I just read that his license was revoked in April. I think he’s out of the World of medical practice now.

I would give a zero if I could. He treated my L1 compression fracture. Put me in a brace and sent me back to work the next day after my car accident. I had extreme pain. @ months later my PCP gets me to the pain clinic. Dr. Timothy Miller does a kyphoplasty and I walk out pain free. This so-called doctor is a pig. Clueless. Arrogant. Liar. Where did he move to now?

He was they best doctor I had for my neck surgery. I want him to do my other surgery's.

I had seen Dr. Parvin for neck/spine. We discussed surgery and I had immediate relief. The pain isn’t gone all the way but I can function more than I was. I had already had damage done so this is a major improvement. I don’t know why people give him low reviews. He has a hard job and can’t cure everything. I’m greatly appreciative of him doing my surgery.

My appointments with Dr. Parvin were for issues of pain & weakness of left arm/shoulder. After he reviewed several MRI’s & X-ray’s Dr. Parvin indicated I needed immediate surgical intervention on my neck/spine. I questioned the doctor of the eventual prognosis after neck/spine surgery. He indicated that the loss of strength & reduced range of motion in my left arm/shoulder would not improve, but that I would be “pain free”. He continued to inform me that the eventual prognosis was my fault, for waiting too long to have the neck/spine surgery. There was something about his demeanor that led me to believe I needed a second opinion. I’m so thankful that I trusted my feelings & sought out additional medical help. The next group of doctors looked at the same MRI’s & X-rays, and also ordered a few more & came to a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT DIAGNOSIS than Dr.Parvin. Absolutely no surgery was recommended on my neck/spine, the problem was a torn ligament & tendon in my left shoulder. Parvin’s… treatment plan wasn’t even in the correct part of the body!!!! I’ve had the recommended surgery on my left should & am in my 4th week of successful PT. Absolutely no medical procedures were done on my neck or spine, as Dr. Parvin strongly tried to manipulate me into. My advise if you are referred to Doctor Dara Parvin, DEMAND A DIFFERENT REFFERAL IMMEDIATELY, or at least get a second option away from the medical system he may be currently affiliated with. Take a close look at his track record, he never stays in one region very long. Stay away from this doctor!

Dr. Parvin came in to our appt. and he told my husband point blank what he saw and what he thought was needed. He may have been blunt, but he knew what he was doing and he was very helpful in answering any questions we had. My husband is almost a year post op and he feels great. We still talk about how we are so glad we went to a Dr. who was agressive with his treatment and told us exactly what to expect and not sugar coat it. Would definitely go to him for any spinal issues we would have!!!

Would not let him operate on my dog.

My husband received a second opinion from Dr. Parvan. We both felt Dr. did an excellent job of explaining his radiology findings and did a thorough examination. He was very honest telling us that disc surgery would relieve the pain but would not guarantee that his walking would improve. He referred us to University of Iowa for nerve conduction studies with the Neurology department and also Surgical consult for possible surgrey. We feel if the University feels my husband would benefit from surgery we would want to have Dr. Parvan do the procedure. We were both impressed with Dr. Parvan.

I went to see him for possible neck surgery. He was extremely persistent on trying to get me to get surgery. I was told by members of his staff to see someone else! I did not trust his input! He also tells you that you can get a second opinion, but he will NOT give you a referral to see another surgeon. I did see another surgeon and was told to get a shot and get PT. I am completely better. Go to someone else!
