Dr. Darcy Billisits Giger, DO

I was admitted to Jefferson hospital for observation due to GI Issues. The ER doctor told me that I would have two tests done the next morning. After months of feeling sick with no answers I was very relieved that the ER doctor was compassionate and taking my symptoms seriously. After twelve hours of fluids, meds, and being held NPO, Dr Giger comes into the room. I explained to her my history. The first thing she said was that it was unrealistic for me to have two tests today. she said you have been sick for months and youre not going to leave here with any answers. She wanted to send me home because in the hospital "The sick only get sicker". I became upset and my husband told her I was held NPO for 13 hours and we werent leaving without testing. She ordered one test and I had it done. Couldn't tell you the results because she never came back and talked to me. I was then told the other test would be out patient. They didnt gave me a script, or anything. I have to start back with my… primary and go from there. I have wait weeks and weeks to go through the process for something I was told would be done inpatient. No compassion at all. ZERO. Ive been crying all day. I'm just so over it.

Darcy Giger, DO, is the best GP that our family has had! Always cheery, available, and willing to spend as much time with you as you need. Very knowledgeable of her field and your health. Even the kids like going to appointments!

Cannot find a better doctor in this area.

When I explained my problem, she just kept cracking jokes that were only funny to her. She didn't give me any valid medical advice. Horrible bedside manner and not much better at giving medical advice.

Found a doctor who actually listened to me and did not rush off to see other patients. Very thorough examination. She ordered a test for me and recognized that waiting for the results was causing me anxiety. The test was done on a Friday and that Sunday morning she notified me of the results! A strong proponent of preventative medicine. She outlined a course of treatment for me to follow for the rest of my life. She is a rare gem in the practice of family medicine.
