Dr. Darin Leetun

I went for a diagnosis and solutions on my frozen shoulder. He never looked at my face, everything he had to say about my shoulder was directed to his assistant. At the end of examination he gave me one single option and perhaps 40% chance of mobility. When I asked about other options he seemed offended and a bit confrontational. I was very uncomfortable and with no desire to go back. Thank goodness I found Dr. Fennel in Crookston, mn who actual listened to my concerns and calmed my fears, and gave me 100% shoulder mobility back.

This Doctor thinks he’s way above you and seems way to into himself because his bedside manner sucks. Thank god he’s leaving Altru. Would never see him again. Never did surgery on my shoulder and would never let him.

Dr. Leetun is a straightforward, no-nonsense surgeon. He doesn't sugarcoat the problems, just provides the best explanations and options available. Always focused on the best outcome for the patient, doesn't rush into decisions, ensures that choices made are thoroughly explained. Amazing care and skill!

Dr. Leetun is a wonderful surgeon and a good guy. We all want a good surgeon but sometimes we miss out because they don't have a good bedside manner but with Dr. Leetun you get the whole package. I would recommend him to the highest. I've had around 12 or more surgeries and a couple more to go and he's at the top of my list and I only regret he can't do the others. Thank you Docy

Dr. Leetun was like a friend. I had injections first to see if they would help. After that I had partial knee replacements, both knees at different times. We could sit and talk with him and feel comfortable. Would definitely have him again and refer my friends to him.

I believe Dr. Leetum is a very knowledgable doctor, but needs to show a tad more compassion and less straight forward approach to his practice. Patients are not MD's, sometimes we just need to know what the next step is and how to accomplish it.

Dr. Leetun is very much missed here in Hancock, MI! He was able to get to the bottom of my shoulder problems quickly and let me know what options I had, and what I was going to do about it. He's very straight forward, let's you know what he thinks is going on and backs up his word that he will help you. I had 3 shoulder surgeries..( 2 on right as 2nd one was for a torn rotator cuff, others were for subacromial decompression) and I also had my knee fixed by him in Dec. 2009! I had trusted him with trying to help me and he did! He cares about his patients well being. He does have a great bedside manner, and does follow-up with you within 48 hrs after surgery. I do recommend him to anyone out there who wants an excellent ortho. dr, he'd be the one I would trust with my life if I had to!! Not to mention, his wife is an awesome nurse.

dr. Leetun has provided care for me several times over the course of 5 years. He is very good at his job, cares about his patients and keeps his end of the bargain by providing you with the care and professionalism you are looking for in a dr! He is missed very much in Hancock, Mi.

My experience with Dr. Leetun was very positive. His approach is straight forward, so it is best to know what you want as your outcome. Dr. Leetun will give you the facts, describe your options then it is up to you to choose AND comply with all necessary post surgical expectations. His quiet nature can be misinterpreted - that being said, I am having other orthopedic issues addressed and have complete and total trust in is wisdom and expertiese.

I was very satisfied with the surgery Dr. Leetun did on my knee. He is a great doctor!
