Doctor pushes sleep test for patients he sees from another office. (pain management). He also prescribes medicine that he doesn't tell you about. He pushes truthfulness, but doesn't practice it!

HE IS A VERY THOROUGH PHYSICIAN. VERY THOUGHTFUL, HONEST, PATIENT ORIENTED PHYSICIAN. I AM SO GLAD HE IS MY CARDIOLOGIST.

Dr. Espina provided a sleep study on me based on my suspicion of heart disease and sleep apnea. His staff conducted lab work on me and he was always on time. Dr. Espina is a great physician who is very patient oriented.

Pushes unnecessary sleep studies. Down right hateful if you dont follow his instructions/eating habits to a T. Between him & his nurse Maureen they are pushy, hateful, mean, & not professional at all. I will never use his again. Full blown nut

Dr. Espina is personable, and my husband and I originally liked him. However, it became obvious that the Arkansas Heart Center indiscriminately pushes sleep studies just for the money.The first time I took my husband there, we were startled by the sleep study emphasis all over the clinic. The doctor seems to try to ask questions in a way to get the answers he wants so as to be able to do a sleep study. My husband shows no signs of needing one, no problems in the night. Dr. Espina thinks he needs one because he falls asleep in the daytime. He does this because of his Parkinson's Disease, and also because of the drugs he takes for PD. His neurologist would ask for a sleep study if one were warranted. His previous primary care doctor did two terms as chief of staff at a large medical center and would surely have known enough to order one if needed. This doctor was all set to do a sleep study on my husband as soon as he was on medicare. By the time that happened , he had found a… new primary care doctor and arranged to have his warfarin checks done there, with no need to return to the AHC. We have no desire to be part of their scheme to sell as many sleep studies and C-PAP devices as possible.The nurse said they have sleep studies done on about 80% of the patients, and of those 75% need treatment. These are awfully high percentages! We don't believe them. We can't trust a doctor who seems so obviously trying to sell something.

Dr. Espina has a genuine interest in bringing the body as a whole to health, not just treating a single symptom. Your blood profile from his clinic is more extensive than I've experience anywhere else, and give you information of real value in guiding your health for life.

Wait time was actually three hours the first time I went. His receptionist says he always runs behind. His appointments desk has made two mistakes. Once they called to confirm an appointment we never made, Today they had no record of an appointment we had for today,. A long drive for nothing.

He has been my dr. for 4 yrs.i have improved 100% since my heart by pass.He treats patients to get well and to stay out of the hosp.if possible.Cannot say enough good things about him....time wont be enough.

Dr. Espina has literally started the process of saving my life. He is extremely caring and listens to what you have to say. His bedside manner is wonderful. I'm so glad I was referred to him!
