Most family practices keep the insurance company happy by wasting your time with ineffective treatments doled out in assembly line fashion by nurse practitioners. If you are either very lucky or very sick, you might actually meet your doctor. At least, this has been my experience.Garrison Family Physicians is not one of these. They give patients access to excellent physicians.My favorite of these is Dr Draper, who my wife and I have been seeing for over two years. She is a genuinely kind and caring person who spends as much time as it takes with her patients. She has personally called us for follow-up or to discuss test results, and explains things in a way that we can understand without treating us like idiots. Our health has measurably improved in the two years we've been seeing her.My only criticism of this practice has nothing to do with the medical professionals, but with the administration. Hang on to receipts, there's a good chance you will have billing problems.

I moved to Colorado with no connections to good Dr.'s, and I was hoping I could find a decent one. The first appt. with Dr. Draper was very thorough, as I was a new client with a recent history of a lot of health problems. My first thought though, was how did the Dr. make it through medical school? Her appearance and mannerisms seem very under par for a professional. She was kind though, and seemed understanding. I continued my appts. and soon came to find that there wasn't as much concern as I thought. I had ALL of my medical records faxed over so that hopefully should could put the puzzle together that was my health. A week later, when I went in for a follow up, she stated that she had NOT received my records, and I had to proceed to tell her AGAIN what EXACTLY I was going through, what my symptoms were etc. I called my old MD and questioned why they hadn't sent the records yet....in fact though, they did. I called the office here again, and after about 5 phone calls found… out that Dr. Draper HERSELF had signed off on my records. Several appointments, and several weird comments later, I've come to realize that Dr. Draper has not even read my records yet. She even made a comment to me today that she didn't think she had them. I've been working with her for about 4 months now....and I'm not returning for my follow up. Because even then, I'll doubt she'll know what/who I am REALLY as a client. I would not recommend her if you have any problems that need solved. The flu, a cold or broken bone? Yeah, those are obvious fixes...but don't expect much effort for issues that aren't as clear and obvious.

Dr Draper may be running a little late on some days. This is because she takes time to listen and does not treat people like an assembly line to be shoved out of the office as quickly as possible. She reminds me of our family doctor when I was a child. I would rather wait a little for an appt. with Dr Draper than get in on time with the majority of other doctors available.

Don't care about her problems;just mine. Wearing open shoes showing her feet...is that sanitary and professional?
