Dr. Darlinda Kirby Minor, MD

I was transferred to this Dr after my Dr left Legacy. I met her less than 5 mins (she was also late) and she wanted to take the very first medication regimen I've been on in over 20 years that actually works and reduce it. This is after my previous doctors worked very hard (my care has been with the same organization the entire time) They went through extreme care and caution increasing dosages one at a time, adding my meds one at a time, all very slowly to make sure that I had no adverse reactions like my past experiences. She did not take the time to ask me about my past, she knew nothing about my file, etc... Dr. Minor has minor skills and if i could give her 0 or nrgative stars I would.

I felt that she made no attempt to be friendly. Her main interest was her computer, I felt and not me. When she did talk there was no eye contact. I was extremely uncomfortable. She was the worst psychiatrist I ever had

Dr. Minor is my shero!! I was happy to hear that she was still seeing patients even in quarantine. She is so amazing and has helped me tremendously. Thanks for working with me, Dr. Minor!!!

Dr. Minor is the reason I am still at St. Elizabeth. My other doctor retired a while back and I was afraid to start seeing someone else. But Dr. Minor has been so patient and listened to me. I feel even better than when I started seeing my first doctor. She is so gracious and patient. The wait time varies but would you want your mental health doctor cutting you off in the middle of a crisis just because of the appointment time? I respect her and the time she spends with me. Thank you, Dr. Minor!! You are the best!

She didn't care for anything I had to say didn't help with any response. I asked her if I could share information from my past and it stay between us and off my records so she could understand me better. She said yes and agreed again when I replied it will not go on my record as long as it's not about harming anyone or myself. So I told her about something from six years ago. It's now on my records for all doctors to see and was made as if it was recent. She made me seem like an addict when I asked to be put back on medications I was prescribed in the past that helped me best. Do not trust her or expect her to help. She also said she couldn't help both my issues of anxiety disorder and issues with concentration. I had to chose which one to get help for. What doctor makes you chose which you would rather suffer with. I believe she should not be allowed to work in the medical field. She has made it to where I'm afraid to see any other doctor to get help. And I suffer from chronic pain… and other issues.

For severe conditions, it seems Dr. Minor is not the right doctor. I went to see her after my current doctor retired. Dr. Minor flat out refused to carry on one of my medications without an explanation. Then, she told me to stop taking my anti-psychotic med without weening off and to immediately start another on the lowest dose possible. This is not only questionable but dangerous. I immediately started looking for another doctor. If your condition is serious - do not go to Dr. Minor, who knows where you might end up.

I saw Dr. Minor for around a year. At my last appt with her, it was an urgent appt for me to get in because I had a suicidal thought and it scared me. I went in for help, I was just wanting someone to talk to about it. I was literally in her office for 5 minutes, she was behind the computer typing, like every visit I've had with her(she would move her eyes to glance at me, very judgmentally) And then out of no where, she tells me the squad is there, and that I can either ride in the ambulance to the hospital and be transported to SUN behavioral, or I could avoid the ambulance fee and ride in a patrol car directly to SUN. I was forced to stay at SUN for 2.5 days. I have NEVER attempted to take my own life. I have never self harmed. I went through a very traumatic experience as an adult and have been dealing with major depression, anxiety, PTSD and panic attacks since. I felt as though I was a criminal, and like I was in jail. I was MORE depressed and anxious in a setting where I knew… NOONE, and I was limited on phone calls. It completely made my situation 1,000,000 times WORSE.
