Dr. Darrel Richard Hotmire, DO

Sometimes just seeing Dr hotmire makes me feel better. He listens to my complaints even though they may be silly or dumb he still listens and he explains everything. He's an excellent doctor

I arrived early and was taken care of immediately, thou it took nearly 2 hours to get everything done. The gentleman assistant was having to get instructions on what was to be done from others & seemed a little unsure at times(not sure if it was just because they don't do enough of the service i was going in for), had hard time hearing my pulse while trying to take blood pressure & taking it right after i walked in. Doctor was a bit distracted at times(had an intern), took several blood pressure tests manually, they really should have a digital unit for better accuracy, seeing how one could not hear the pulse & other not doing it properly. My arm was not properly rested on something or supported at heart level, i had to hold it in the air manually but was not at heart level because doctor was in the way & the first readings were taken when i was not rested for 5mins. They got a lower blood pressure at one point, but he inputted the higher numbers from when i first arrived and made… both his tries as the same pressure, which should have varied. Thou i get nervous in public areas or places i don't know. At home my digital readout is 124/82. At one point he said he had to do research on the reading & requirements for the service i was in for. Then when filling out the card & paperwork, His staff & him missed critical areas that needed check marked or signed to be legal. He nearly filled it out after his first check in on me, before asking if they did a hearing, sight or pee test, which had not been done, after that is when the situation went south even more. I recommend not using him for a DOT physical, due to his lack of experience in properly testing things that are critical & the fact they were not filling out the forms correctly. As for his other services, he could be a very good doctor, just got too much vib of him not knowing what he was doing for the service i required & that his staff were also a bit lacking in how to efficiently do it without asking others what to do.

I was experiencing a mild discomfort in my chest that I thought might be the beginning of an ulcer. Dr. Hot mire ran bloodwork and discovered I had blood sugar over 500 (which anything over 120 is high). No previous dr. Had though to run this simple check of vitals.

Dr. Hotmire runs late on his appointments because he takes his time with patients. He does not rush you through your visit. Due to this he solves patients problems. Best doctor I have ever had!

I went in there for one thing and left two appointments later with three. Plus both times I was put in a room for a child, to small and a lot of toys.
