Dr. Brett is an awesome doctor explained everything and did as said. He was professional and friendly, straight to the problem and took his time explaining the steps. Had number C5 in my neck replaced. Its been three months now and I’m already doing better. Surgery sounded scary to me but DR Brett dude great job earning my trust.

When I first met Dr. Darrell Brett, I could barely walk or stand straight due to severe back pain. He was and he still is personable, approachable and patience with me. He allowed me to express my frustrations about my situation and he listened attentively without stopping me. He is very knowledgeable in his field, empathetic with my situation and reassuring. I left his office feeling confident, empowerment about my back pain and that I could go through the surgery with minimal complication. Dr. Brett took his time to explain my pain in a simple language for any lay person to understand which I was grateful. The staff at his office were nice with professional attitude. They were respectful and patient with me when my filling out the forms was taking longer than normal. The care I received from Dr. Darrell Brett is beyond measure. Dr. Brett was compassionate, direct, honest, and made himself available to answer any questions I had or my family had. He felt like a family member looking out for my best interests. His staff was friendly, attentive, and accessible. Dr. Brett explained the surgery fully, desired outcome, the low percentage of risk involved, and recovery expectations. Dr. Brett and Dr. Johansen were both involved with surgery, Anterior Cervical arthroplasty with mobi-c artificial discs and anterior cervical fusion. Both spoke with me separately prior to surgery and let me know again, what to expect. Dr. Brett said a prayer with me before we went into the operating room. He also checked on me later that day and the following day in the hospital. Dr. Brett is a wonderfully skilled surgeon and doctor. My scar was unbelievably minimal and looked great just 10 days after the procedure. Dr. Brett is the best and I recommend him with… highest regards. I had surgery at Adventist Health Portland Hospital and stayed overnight. The nursing staff was terrific and all had great things to say about Dr. Brett and his 30+ year tenure at the hospital. Dr. Brett performed by 2nd L5/S1 Laminectomy. I am going on 6 weeks post surgery and felling much better. Still giving the nerves time to heal and strengthen. Dr. Brett is very professional and knowledgeable. I would recommend NW Spine Surgery to everyone needing treatment/surgeries. The first laminectomy was in 2019 with a previous Dr. and obviously was not a success.

Dr. Brett performed a Mobi-C Disc replacement in my neck. He told me I would be able to do anything I did before I needed the replacement and he was correct. Dancing, skating, lifting weights, I can do it all. The pain I was in prior to surgery was horrid. I am thankful to have my life back.

Dr. Brett replaced 2 discs in my neck. My experience with Dr Brett was exceptional. The operating room was tied up long after my appointment so Dr Brett spent his time speaking with me answering any and all questions I had My surgical experience was great and my recovery was easy and I was always informed of what to expect I truly would recommend Dr Brett to anyone with spinal or Neurological concerns.

Dr. Brett has consistently provided an expert level of skilled care. I was referred to him 15 years ago by my chiropractor. He performed a fusion which completely ended my pain. Dr. Brett from my initial visit was very cordial, he was very interested and concerned about my spinal & nerve condition which was 20 years in the making. Once Dr. Brett had received both the x rays and MRI which showed damage to both L4 and L5, he explained the specific laminectomy surgery to be performed, risks, and the desired outcome which was to be free of the nerve pain. I had an accident at work. In the end I had to have a Laminectomy and discectomy done. A lot of people don't like his personality, but agree he is one of the best in the country. I liked his personality, he's just very direct and tells you the truth. His personality was great for fighting Workmans comp for me. He appealed their decisions many times to get my MRI and Surgery approved. He will fight the insurance companies for you. Although I'm not 100% better yet. This Dr. is a miracle worker. I wasn't sure I'd ever be able to go back to work. I'd be happy with where I'm at right now because I didn't think getting back to this point was even possible. You will not regret your decision. He is very talented and knowledgeable.

I had been suffering from spinal stenosis for nine months. Had uncontrollable neck and back spasms that completely incapacitated me. Woke up every single day begging for my hands and feet to return their feeling. Spent every day with a constant excruciating headache, to include clicking in my ear when I spoke or chewed food. I could hardly get out of bed. Then, I met Dr. Brett. He wasted no time at all. He looked at my MRI and instantly educated me on why I was suffering so incredibly much. He quickly devised a plan, and then took immediate action. He and his amazing surgical team performed a four-level cervical disc replacement surgery, and I was instantly healed from the headaches and numbness in my arms, and the uncontrollable neck and back spasms. I was able to leave the hospital the following day and there he was, on his day off to make sure that I could do so safely. He maintained contact with me by phone during all hours of my recovery, even at 3:00 a.m. It was if he was there… holding my hand offering his steadfast reassurance in that what I was experiencing was part of the normal healing process, which gave me a great deal of comfort. It has been going on four-months now since my procedure, and as I look back on the entire ordeal, I think to myself, what an amazing man! God is with him to guide his hands so carefully and gives him the knowledge and expertise to truly heal people. I am ever so grateful to have had Dr. Darrell C. Brett as my surgeon!
