When I visited the ER at advent, I had been experiencing nausea and vomiting, along with abdominal pain and diarrhea for a week. I am now 3 and a half weeks of experiencing the same symptoms. They drew a CBC, and of course it came back normal because it is not a specific test. He talked to me like a five year old, telling me what ondansetron was when I am a nursing student and have taken it many times before. They sent me home with no other tests, saying it was “reassuring.” I ended up going to a hematologist, and I am now diagnosed with selective IgA deficiency. This all could’ve been tested for 2 weeks prior to me finding out, but of course as a female I was not listened to. I am still experiencing the same symptoms every single day, and I have lost 16 pounds in 3 and a half weeks due to not being able to eat as well. Life tip: Indian doctors care about patients much more than white doctors, and will actually get to the root of the problem instead of prescribing things to mask it.
