Our orthodontist, Dr. Darren Pakravan, is available to help you achieve the smile you want! Dr. Pakravan grew up in the north suburbs of Chicago and studied environment science at Northwestern University before going to dental school.  He completed his dental training at the University of Illinois and also completed a hospital dentistry residency at Evanston Hospital before returning to UIC for his orthodontic specialty training and Master’s degree in oral sciences.  His Master’s thesis studied the relationship between patients’ and orthodontists’ assessments of cooperation and satisfaction with the outcome of orthodontic treatment.
Besides seeing patients in private practice, Dr. Pakravan is also a faculty member of the Department of Orthodontics at the UIC College of Dentistry. Â Aside from clinical …instruction to the orthodontic specialty students, he lectures on the integration of orthodontic treatment with general dental care and potential complications of orthodontic care, and helped revise and expand the biomechanics course as part of the specialty curriculum there.
In his spare time, Dr. Pakravan enjoys riding (and repairing) his vintage Vespa motorscooter and experiencing live music and other art exhibitions, as well as settling down with a good book or movie to relax.
