Dr. Darren Edward Whitcomb, MD

A doctor who prefers to prejudge and label patients before considering that they may have a condition that warrants help in an ER setting. Another reminder that ERs are becoming places to go only if you have a heart attack, gunshot wound, or compound fracture. There’s nothing worse than bringing your loved one in for car and having them treat her like a drug seeking rat. I will not return to West Jeff again because of Dr. Whitcomb and I suspect that they will be glad to hear it.

In the midst of suffering much pain in my throat (due to a bad case of strep I would later find out), Dr. Whitcomb kept the mood light and offered many jokes to keep my mind occupied. He was very gentle and caring in investigating the sources of my pain while making sure to emphasize their probable simple, non-alarming cause. I hope he stays in medicine for a very long time!

Dr. Whitcomb is the worst doctor that I have ever come across, and I am a Crohn's patient who have seen many. In my opinion, he is impatient, uncaring, discourteous, negatively judgemental, and does not follow the Hippocratic Oath for doctors. He refuses care on a wimb and falsifies medical records to support his own demented reasoning for his refusal. Be careful in dealing with him if you are unfortunate enough to have him as your Emergency Room physician. Be sure to stroke his ego and remain on his good side or you will no doubt be refused care and sent on your way, no matter how sick you are.
